It was hardly poor opposition there. In the Second Half your u21 team beat our 21 team 12 points to 6.
Several of our Lads are home grown and in Yates and Donaghue and Grady we have 3 young players as good as any in that age bracket in super league teams. Indeed I'd be suprised if some of these Wigan youngsters Kick on and this season for many of these Widnes players, the National leagues will be more of a development ground than playing in an u21 comp.

Having said that Hansen looks vastly improved and McIllorum and Prescott also seem like excellent prospects. Mathers looked smooth at the back and wth Fielden,Prescott, Coley Paleasina, Hock , O'Loughlin,Bailey and Hansen in the pack Wigan will do very well this year

Once again, (and as a guest who comes on here from time to time without ever overstepping the mark), its probably important to remind you that 8 weeks ago, we did not have a team as such. I was impressed with young Steven Roper ( a WiganLad I believe) and centre Tim Hartley shouwed some good touches.

My Team could do with 1 more Big Centre and a strong Winger. But Im "encouraged"

Believe me, I have seen some poor teams in the last Dozen Years, nd this Widnes Team hs some good players
