My family history is pure Wigan, my paternal grandfather drove steam trains out of Springs Branch and my maternal grandfather was a milkman in Billinge. Parents moved to Coppull in the sixties, following coal mines, that are now long closed. Brother worked at Parkside,Kid Glove and finished at Parsonage when he emigrated to South Africa, following coal. My cousin is Walter Hurst the clogger from Hindley, now sadly retired, I moved to Longton near Preston.
"They just came to the club.I was there training in the Under 13's. They told us we had to stop playing Rugby 13. They took our kit and even the balls". 1942 unknown French rugby league player. Never forget.

Mike, you possibly know me by sight, I sit not too far from you in the West Stand and I am nearly always in the South Stand bar before the games. I was in the same year as Craig at Hawkley, before I moved to Deanery.
I used to play at St.Judes but I don't think I have seen you there.

I'm nearly 35, I think Danny's probably a bit younger than I am
I left Judes in 1995 to join the Army. Went back to Judes in 2001 after I had left the Army but my knees were in too bad a shape to make a proper go of it.
