They are guaranteed 30 million plus in prize money this year.

Plus they got 750k just being on the BBC in a featured FA cup tie.

I would have assumed that the 30 million (if correct), would come under the agreement for staying in the Premier League for a set period of years. If relegated, Latics would receive a reduced sum, for a short period (parachute payments) before they would have to "live off their own means" again! (not sure of exact number of years). Still, these figures are absolutely dwarfed by the figures the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd etc would get.

As for it being "Prize Money", for the worst pitch in the Premier League I assume??

I believe the bottom club in the premierships get 30million,then its increases by 1 million a place so the champions end up with 50 million.

Also if your game is show live on sky you get a 650k payment.

If your relegated your get two years worth our parachute payments at 25 million per year.

That saying though Heskey probably gets paid more than all our players put together!

So the cost are there,but im sure Whelan wont be overspending,he is far to shrewd a buisnessman for that.
