Yes it is right they are digging up the pitch, but it is not a simple relaying of the turf.
They are going to dig right down and replace the undersurface of the the pitch area as well. This I am told will "solve" the drainage problems. So it will need a 3 week window and June/July is the best time to do this.
I was going to buy a book called "The Power of Positive Thinking", and then I thought: What good would that do?

Thankyou AlanF and welcome.

Who will fund this relaying? Whelan and Lenagan jointly? as technically they are two seperate clubs using the same pitch.

Hi

No idea about the funding, the statement was from a Wigan Athletic interview with Steve Bruce. If we are renting the stadium (are we?) then would it be the landlord so to speak who funds it. Have no idea really.

Nothing to do with fixture unfortunately. It is down to growing seasons. The optimum time is summer for the turf to reknit. Otherwise it will just lift. Winter would not be an option for a stable job. One game switch seems a small sacrifise for a new surface, HC

They could switch the Stains home game on the 19th July, that would be perfect cos I am on holiday then and it would mean I could go to the rescheduled match.

Does that mean that season ticket holders will get a refund for one game if it is switched ?
