And they are talking about him playing against Stains at the weekend.
The only chance they have is to keep kicking the ball and let him chase it. If he gets tackled with ball in hand, he is going to get creamed :o

Two points:

Sure, it's a publicity stunt, but if it puts "bums on seats" what's wrong with that?

And, what have they got to lose? They're already bottom, no relegation to worry about, why not take a gamble on him?

Just one prime example.

Kevin Penny last year. Burst onto the scene, scored tries for fun by just using his pace. He hadnt played much rugby had he and was a basketball man, which isnt the toughest sport by all means.

Hope dwain succeeds.

difference between kevin penny and dwain chambers is that kevin penny can catch a ball even under pressure, dwain dropped a batton in relay a few year back.

And catching a baton when sprinting at 80% full speed without looking and in the World Championships isn't pressure?
I think if he had come to RL at 27 he would have had a good chance of making it, I don't think he's got enough time to learn the game though.
Still, I am keen to see how he goes on and part of me hopes he succeeds. He may be an asset or he may flop, whatever his reasons for trying it, you've got to give him at least a bit of respect for having a go at arguably the toughest team sport in the world.
Time will tell.
