Ganson!
Ganson!
I think it's a absolute disgrace that Ganson can be so blatantly one sided and get away with it. Will nobody at RL head quarters take a look at his performance and ask questions?
I know it is easy to blame the ref, and I admit we cocked up the last ten minutes but without his appalling decisions we would have had a big enough buffer to absorb the Bulls final onslaught.
Most annoying was the sending off of Sean because had the nerve to get upset at one of his biased calls. Just 2 minutes later a Bulls try went in - victory Ganson!

Ps. oh and one of the tries he disallowed.... he was not even looking in the right direction !!!

Re: Ganson!
I know what you mean! But its the same with refs in general and the RFL will say it is just disapointed fans who are downhearted about hte loss. With no Stuart Cummings (who I dont like anyway) and no official complaints from clubs what is suposed to happen! If people dont start standing up for fair games then they will become more and more one sided!
I suggest fans appealing to the RFL, thats the only possible thing that can be done even if it doesnt work, we will be making the RFL aware that it is a real problem and not just a downhearted complaint from fans trying to find someone to blame for the loss!

And could someone please explain to me how Vagana failed to get binned for the most obvious and intentional swinging high tackle we'll see at the JJB this year? OK so he missed the man completely and a penalty was awarded to Wigan but surely the obvious intent was sufficient for something other than the 'Joe, now be a love and don't do that again' that we got from Ganson.

EXACTLEY! Also Iestyn Harris should have been sent off for the last ten minites, he shouted back at the referee twice after desicions went against him and the ref did nothing but shake a finger, he showed intent to hurt the ref at one point (unfortunatly he didnt) but why didnt he get sent off, O'loughlin got automatically binned for the same offence and Sean's wasnt even that bad! It just makes you think, if the ref wasnt so biased in not sending Harris of then he wouldnt have been there to score off a very risky pass. Would the outcome of the game have been any different? Of course!

Withers also mouthed off when penalised - twice, no action taken.
Everyone seems to have missed, that not only did he get the radders tackle wrong, but the volcano had already knocked on when he tried to palm the ball back. That should have been a 20 metre tap straight away.

I have to say that was the one (of several) bad decisions that annoyed me the most. The others, like the forward pass for the penultimate Bradford try you can put down to the inevitiable error rate a ref will have in every game i.e. they will miss some things and make a bad call as a result.craigbeck posted:

The O'Loughlin binning was, IMO, a different matter. He had time to think about what he was doing so why didn't he just march the penalty 10 meters up the field for answering back? That is the usual sanction applied to players mouthing off at the ref and I am sure he did do just that to a Bulls player later on.
So we have the worst sort of inconsistancy here. First he sends our lad off for 10 minutes, then either ignores Bradford players doing the same or at best marches them back 10 meters from the penalty.
That said in general I think Gansons biggest problem as a ref is he is often caught not looking at the play. That can be the only explanation of the drop out decision where Rads was carried back over the line once the tackle was made. Does anyone remember Wilde being penalised in the Wigan Saints grand final for pulling a player into touch the same way?
It should have been a penalty to Wigan not a drop out and he simply was not looking at the initial tackle.
Same goes for several other incidents. He just misses too much to be a good ref in my book.

I totaly agree with you and I do remember the Wild incident, its infuriating that its one rule for one team and a different rule for another.DaveO posted:I have to say that was the one (of several) bad decisions that annoyed me the most. Re: Ganson!
it,s time for full time pro referees after all their poor calls could result in players or coaches loosing their jobs. they should then be made to watch tapes of their last games and see where they are going wrong
Re: Ganson!
I don't think full time referees will make that much difference. Each have to pass a fitness test to be included on the list now, and human beings will always make mistakes. Having said that, I was thinking we couldn't get a worse ref than Ashley Klein after the Salford game, but how wrong I was
I have previously sent a letter to the RFL regarding Russell Smith (during the ill-fated World Club Challenge league format). The response was a typical 'sore loser - refs are always right' reply. I don't think fans writing in will make any difference to the appointment of referees, or changes to their style.
What could be useful is a feedback form for fans to complete on the RFL website regarding match officials. This could be set questions/responses so that an analysis could be done and reviewed

Re: Ganson!
if the refs where full time they would be able to analize their mistakes and how other refs dealt with similar situations by having more time to devote to the game . do you think the players would be as good if they where part time semi pros.
