Re: SMUG!!!!
Fielden definatly made an improvement and most importantly didnt run sideways and got over the gain line. Well done.
O carrol and coley made the yards once half tackled and got there legs pumping to gain a few more yards. well done.
Lockers played notably well in the first half and had his hand in the first try which was a very good short ball to carmont, exactly what he should be doing, linking up with the centres.
Mathers did really well catching alot of high bombs and making great meters from kick returns.

Fielden may have been given a bit too much stick. Probably for merely being solid and not totally outstanding in some games.botica wrote:Well about time some pro Feilden comments. He did well! As did Tommy, the two of them have taken some stick of late on here and some i feel unfairly.
But lets not get carried away and be realistic, TL has IMO deserved all the stick he has got so far this season.

Re: SMUG!!!!
The reason the ball doesnt go outwide as much and fluently when trent plays is because he has to do it on his own.
Yesterday, lockers was oporating outwide linking up with the centres, like he should be doing. Also lu lu went in at first man and passed it out to coyle.

Re: SMUG!!!!
I dont know what happens on the pitch.
The tactics might be for trent to get it ouwide.
The players might simply think, trent will do it so its ok, we dont have to.
None of us know the situation and can only debate about it.
As long as we win, i dont care whose hands it goes through, even if fielden gets in at first reciever and throws a long ball outwide.

Fielden is still a pussycat and not in the top half dozen props in the comp and a mile off the WC pace. He did haveDaveO wrote:Fielden may have been given a bit too much stick. a better 2nd half, but is way off the standard he set himself at the Bulls.
TL is simply not good enough. He and Coyle both play as extra forwards.
If Coyle is a stand off I'm a Chinaman!!

God what game were you watching last night ? In the 1st half our tactics were completely different to the past few game's.Our attack improved 100% we put on set moves & threw the ball round, drew the man & then passed the ball (lockers pass to set up Pats try)had dummy runners & all in poor conditions. To say that it was boring and we used the same tactics is complete nonsense.Im happy because we played some very good rugby and we won.

Re: SMUG!!!!
I think the whole team 1 - 17 were all M O M. They played brilliant. It was bloody freezing but they warmed us up with their great dispay.
How could someone comment that this game was boring to watch? The excitement on the terraces was incredible. Just because there wasn't any points scored in the second half? To watch the defensive display from both teams kept you on the edge of your toes.
Lets hope we can continue this way. Our defence was awesome. Well done lads.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

No he is saying the second half tactics were not the same. He said the 1st half tactics were different. Or did you miss this bit "In the 1st half our tactics were completely different.."?God wrote:So what your saying is that the second half tactics were not the same tactics employed against Wakey and Hull KR, i beg to differ and so does Phil Clarke on sky who said were playing the same tactics, even Eddie and Stevo stated we were playing no frills one out rugby and its effective.gillysmyhero wrote:God what game were you watching last night ? Eh?Compare this to Catalans on friday who were throwing it around for fun that was open rugby, throwing a couple of set moves in while using the same tactics isnt a complete change.
So you think the one out RL is a "tactic" do you?Just because we beat Leeds doesnt meen a complete change in tactics at all, i bet you that if you had a replay of all three games they will all be similar tactics on show, the weather for KR and Wakey were the worst conditions this year which hampered any kind of open rugby, we played the conditions and won. And when the weather again came into effect the tactics changed to one out Rugby against Leeds too.
Noble got it spot on again but this week hes a hero, last week was sack him, whats it to be??
Really it is not. We have won despite how we have played in most games this season.
I am not complaining about the Leeds result one bit. You win against the top of the league however you can but you have to be blind to consider the RL we have played so far this season in other games either good or down to tactics.
Didn't you say we would lose as well? How does that make you right? I thought everyone's head (as opposed to heart) thought we would lose. The pundits thought so. The bookies did. The fans did. We got a great surprise but having a dig at someone for thinking we would lose when you yourself said the same thing is a bit strange!Just admit it mate you were wrong about our chances against Leeds which would have been No chance whatsoever.
