FROM A TO B wrote:Just a thought, but has anyone approached the club about doing a bucket collection at the wire game?
I have done this type of thing in the past (many years ago) and had to get a license (this was in Chester mind), so not sure if too late.
Just a thought
guy yes we have ,the club are donating all the monies we make from the golden gamble half time draw above the £2000 pay out ,warrington are putting there own sellers in the re stand
Thats great news mike. Just a thought BUT any chance of one of the Riversiders trying to organise a bucket collection for the away game on the 25th the Day after our walk?

Only a thought Mike & no probs if its not possible, i did ask on the site a while ago.

Two places in the bunk house at the Ben Nevis Inn if anyone is interested (01397 701227), my wife and son are not going up there (I've cancelled their reservation) so their places are available if anyone wishes to stay in the bunk house.

I dont know anyone who is going on the walk personally, or what they know about walking up mountains, but without the "teaching grandma to suck eggs" senario I've put together a few things that you will need.

Rucksack, 35 or 40 litre should be ok.
Waterproofs, (that includes leg protection as well)
Walking boots, (with ankle supports), the rocks on the path could twist your ankle.
A good pair of Walking socks.
Tee Shirts, long sleeved? then when you get warm you can take one off.
Sweat shirt.
Fleece.
Wooly hat of some description.
Gloves.
Trousers of some description, not cords or jeans, because if it rains they will retain water.
Small first aid kit for yourself containing possibly, plasters, a bandage, a blister pack (couple of pounds from Boots), scissors, and, most important, any personal medication that you will need.
A flask, (1 litre one should be ok).
Sandwiches, biscuits, chocolate bars etc. to sustain you for the day up the mountain.
Water, fruit drinks etc. (regards the water, you can fill up at the Red Burn which is drinkable, about half way up).
A Walking pole? I need one these days!
Sun tan cream, (living in hope!)
What about the pictures at the top? The camera has got to be included!
Hopefully I have put together most details you will need, if anyone can add, feel free.
By the way I have found that if you cut your toenails beforehand, your feet have more room in the boot when they swell up.
