What a cracking weekend, met lots of people who I had never met before, all for the same cause to raise money for Mike's Trust.
We all set off about 8-20 in the morning and with a team effort of helping each other we got to the top of Britain about 12-20, although it was'nt a race, 4 hours is a very good time by any standards considering the heat.
A highlight of the weekend was (as someone has mentioned) when on the top Gregor pulled a bottle of malt from his rucksack, with plastic cups dished out, the "toast" was fitting to Mike, many pictures were taken, and, in T-shirt weather the views were stunning.
We spent about 45 minutes on top, it was crowded, but as Tony mentioned, more than a Saints normal home game.
It was a long way down, (as it was a long way up!), we new where the pub was, but it never seemed to be getting any closer, finally we got on flat walking ground which was the pub car park, 5 yards from the start of the walk.
The first 2 pints didn't touch the sides as they went down, a big hand clap to all the people who did it and organise it, if it is on for next year I am up for it, if we can have the same "crack" as in the good laughs sense, and, the same weather.
PS. One good touch, was, when on the Friday evening when we were all having a chat on the decking area of the Ben Nevis Inn, one of the "locals" came up to us to have a chat, asked us if we were doing the walk for a charity etc. We said we were doing it for the Mike Gregory Trust, he asked, "who was in charge" we said, "no-one, but mikesnephew was sat over there", he promptly stuck his hand in his pocket and pulled out a £20 note and passed it to mikesnephew.
The world is not full of "takers", I thought that was a smashing touch.
Roll on the next walk!
Mick

As everyone has posted since getting back it was a fantastic wk-end with great personal efforts being put in by various people who over came there own personal fears. You know who you are.
We didnt have far to go to get home BUT never got home till about 6pm last night due to having a look about fort william & glen coe visitors centre, where my daughter forced me to do a little hike.

All i can say is everyone did exceedenly well & we all got up & down safely, thats what counts, that and the fact we did it for a very good cause.
