Hanley link to Warrington
28 May 2008
DONCASTER Rugby League Club will not stand in the way of head coach Ellery Hanley, should he become a target for Super League outfit Warrington Wolves as they attempt to replace the departed Paul Cullen.
Warrington confirmed yesterday that they had parted company with Cullen in the wake of Monday's home defeat against lowly Castleford Tigers. Hanley is one of a number of coaches being touted as a replacement.
Hanley was first linked with Warrington in April 2007, when he was seen with the club's owner, Simon Moran, at an away fixture against the Catalans Dragons.

Steve Folkes eyes Warrington Wolves coaching job
They're like a pack of vultures :exc:
http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/ ... 41,00.htmlOUTGOING Bulldogs coach Steve Folkes will pursue the coaching job at big-spending English club Warrington after their coach Paul Cullen stood down this week.
Manager John Fordham, who has close links with Warrington's majority owner Simon Moran through the Andrew Johns signing of 2005, has made contact with the Wolves and put forward Folkes, who is happy to move to the UK to continue his career.
Options in Europe looked to have closed for Folkes after Perpignan-based Les Catalans chose the less costly option of employing a non-established NRL coach, Kevin Walters, and Hull replaced the sacked Peter Sharp with his assistant, Richard Agar.
Cullen was the longest surviving Super League coach, holding the position since 2002, but he fell on his sword after losing six of the last seven games despite fielding a squad that boasts Matt King, Adrian Morley, Michael Monaghan, Louis and Vinnie Anderson, Paul Rauhihi and Great Britain centre Martin Gleeson.
"I spoke with Simon (Moran) via email this morning to register our interest and he informs me he was looking at another option initially but would certainly get back to us," said Fordham, who is using an English agent to help Folkes look for opportunities.

LMAO - The Bulldogs fans say that Folkes is nothing but a "clipboard coach" with his only tactic of
give it to Sonny
give it to Sonny
give it to Sonny
give it to Sonny
ad nauseum
Should go "down" a treat at the wire then!

Re: Cullen resignation
I know Warrington should have beaten Castleford but the call I reckon that cost Cullen his job was:
The decision by Wakefield based Video Referee Ben Thaler to answer NO TRY to that Simon Grix effort for Warrington in the second half for an "alledged" knock on.
But surely the man was going into the tackle and therefore it was play on?????? :conf: :conf: :conf: :conf:
The biggest decision of the season so far for young Thaler and in my opinion I think he has made a huge mistake in his decision which has cost Cullen his job.

Of course, and it was the refs fault that they lost the last 6 games as well.

Re: Cullen resignation
The team cost Cullen his job. They should be in the top six with the recruitments they have made and they should play like a top team instead of thinking they can win games on reputation alone. Sorry Turf but the team are responsible for losing games.turf wrote:I know Warrington should have beaten Castleford but the call I reckon that cost Cullen his job was:
