Meeting the players

Post by MRS BRIAN CARNEY »

I have only ever met Ian Millward (BOO) and terry newton in person, and was far too shy to say hello. Wondered if anyone else had met any of the players out and about and if they were nice. I live in Warrington and see the Warrington team out all of the time on a friday and sat night, not surprising looking at their results though.Has anyone else met any of the wigan team? Especially Brain Carney

Mick Cassidy

I have to disaggree with your comment about Mick. He gave up his time on several occassions to help out with my sons rugby team, also giving up his Saturday night to attend the presentation evening. he is a lovely bloke, he would turn up with usually Neil Cowie in tow and had masses of patience and time for the kids. TOP BLOKE!

Brian Carney is such a lovely person, I met all last years team and Kelvin (*sigh *) and i've also met ian millward GR sean long and tommy martyn, graeme west rob smyth (ARGHHH i used to love him) shaun edwards, phil clarke was at st marys standing just behind me n I met dennis betts after the 98 challenge cup, we ran after him and he seemed really happy to stay and talk. My grandad used to always talk to frank endacott in Asda. Not had as much luck this year though I think they're hiding from me.

Sorry i must be a little disappointing on the meeting the players front. My only clames to fame are meeting the two Iro brothers many, many, many, many years ago. I remember being very little and a wee bit silly. But i have said hello to Andy Farrell what a lovely tall, strong chap- (oooh let me sit down). I would love to meet Danny Tickle and get my Wigan shirt signed any one know how i can corner him?
