Therein I think lies the crux, 12 man defeats you can tolerate but the ooor decision making from the coach to the players, the sheer resignation to defeat. You can actually remain competitive with 12 players for an awfully long time. However, you need to adopt a different mindset. There was no attempt to slow the game up, to waste time, to get breathers and THEN slog your guts out

You're right, there are poor decisions being made by the coach. But, the players are capable of making decisions too and some of those decisions are bad.

Noble's tactics are poor and I can't defend them, his reluctance to use Mossop, or whoever the young sub may be, is infuriating! Especially when we were down to 12, and we needed to use the subs to keep players as fresh as possible.

The players decided to take there breathers when they should have been getting behind the ball.

Personally, I do not think that the time is right yet to show Noble the door. IL is a very shrewd man and knows that his next appointment has to be one which will win the fans votes and take the club forward from where we currently are. I can't personally think of anyone who fits the bill at the moment who we would have a realistic chance of poaching (open to realistic suggestions though).

All that said, there are some frustrations which I believe are glaring to the majority. When you are playing with twelve men, there are two areas of prime importance.
1. Retain as much possession as possible.
2. Use your substitutions wisely.

Surely Noble could see that Hock believed we had to score every time he touched the ball, hence the repeatedly impossible offloads.
Why use substitutes 5 minutes either side of half time?
Surely in these circumstances we can expect a player to give an extra 5 minutes leading up to half time knowing he is getting a break. When a player has just had 10-15 minutes break and a sit down why does he need another rest five minutes later? Week in week out we seem to overlook very fundamental areas that make the game much simpler.
We are more inconsistent than the referees in our week to week performances.
Yes Klein is a p**ck, but we have problems to concentrate on that are within our control. I just believe that Noble is a very limited coach. He left Bradford in a worse state than when he took them over. I would persevere in the short term with one eye on who may become available to take us to the next level.

ill say it again.. sacking noble is not the answer. we are 5th in table with a game in hand meaning if wire lose tonight against hudders (which they might do) and we beat them next fri then we will be 4th which is good enough. anyone thought we would beat saints last night must be either deluded or not a fan who goes a lot of the games. simple as. i think most of the fans on here think we should be top of league beating everybody but its not the case. i dont know how saint get away with this salary cap. no way are all them players are under the cap.

plus i may add we had quite afew players missing last night like richards, tim smith, bailey, prescott and lockers and i think the score wouldnt have a been a hammering like that.

The non event was probably coming from the (contentious) 6th minute dismissal of Mcllorum (spelling?).

Not that I am blaming Mcllorum, but I really felt that as if it was not hard enough against top of the table opposition, it was made twice as hard with 12 mean against 13 (or maybe 14 + 15 counting referee and video referee )
