Re: END OF THE ROAD NOBLE
IMO with Noble being a Bradford lad, he can only get us up for his derby, this being Leeds. We either need a coach from Wigan or some Mint aussie. :conf:

Wasn't it the same scenario against Hull KR last week??the-Bowtun-Warr ior wrote:turf wrote:The non event was probably coming from the (contentious) 6th minute dismissal of Mcllorum (spelling?).the-Bowtun-Warr ior wrote:not many people expected or even asked for a win last night!
its the non event that gets us all so annoyed! such lack of effort, heart, desire and even personal pride is unacceptable!
Not that I am blaming Mcllorum, but I really felt that as if it was not hard enough against top of the table opposition, it was made twice as hard with 12 mean against 13 (or maybe 14 + 15 counting referee and video referee![]()
)
for me no!
the lack of 'effort, heart, desire and even personal pride' we apparent when the players kicked off, conceded that first try, and for the rest of the game!
I know what you are getting at Bowtun-Warrior, if Wigan cannot get fired up for a Derby against St Helens then there is SOMETHING, DRASTICALLY wrong in our camp!!!
Re: END OF THE ROAD NOBLE
I have yet to call for Noble's haed, although the team's inconsistency is a big problem and he must take some of the blame. Saints are hammering all before them at present and we had Klown to deal with last night. What worries me more is the defeat to mediocre teams like Hull KR and drawing with Castleford. A bad workman always blames his tools, but that lot out there can be a load of s**t on occasions. I don't think he is out the door yet but it cannot be far away.

This is unbelievable...eccywarrior wrote:ill say it again.. sacking noble is not the answer. we are 5th in table with a game in hand meaning if wire lose tonight against hudders (which they might do) and we beat them next fri then we will be 4th which is good enough. anyone thought we would beat saints last night must be either deluded or not a fan who goes a lot of the games. simple as. i think most of the fans on here think we should be top of league beating everybody but its not the case. i dont know how saint get away with this salary cap. no way are all them players are under the cap.
plus i may add we had quite afew players missing last night like richards, tim smith, bailey, prescott and lockers and i think the score wouldnt have a been a hammering like that.
If this, if that, we will be fourth, which is good enough !!???
and how can you call a player like Smith, who has never played for us 'missing' ?
This lacklustre, complacent, lazy attitude is exactly what is p*****g so many of us off when we see Nobby and so many members of his team behaving in the same way.
Disgraceful

Re: END OF THE ROAD NOBLE
Ok, after having calmed down from last night and had a think, I am now off my fence (another noble thread)...
I think it is time for him to go at the end of the season. To lose so many times against St helens by big margins, to have no consistancy each week, to have little set plays and the sheer manner of play is sub-standard. The team is unfit (maybe not his fault but his training input).
I can see an improvement from 2006... but now we're 2008, the deadwood has now gone (Vaealiki etc...) and we're in limbo. If you picture a line graph we curved upwards now we're stable... we beat Leeds one week and lose against Hull KR the next... fantastic performances one week (Warrington) then lose the next etc...
We need a refreshing change or else I fear we will remain stable. iT HAS BEEN TOO LONG SINCE wIGAN WAS IN A MajOR FINAL, far too long.
I hope Wigan play well for the playoffs and win the Grand Final.

Re: END OF THE ROAD NOBLE
Your right eccywarrior, we probably never had a chance of winning last night, but at least we could have completed sets, and had the players turn up rather than keep there heads down, this just adds fuel to the fire i have about Noble being out coach, the guy cant motivate (obvously) and tactics proir to last nite seem to be a bit poor. we shudnt be 5th or 4th. This is Wigan, This is a great club that deserves a great coach (Tony Smith) and should easily be in the top 2.
Thants my little rant over with
P.S
Gareth Hock - if you wanna learn how to catch a ball or off-load, i used to play for Sandal Rugby Club, would gladly show you...
P.S part 2, Dont like Lockers either.

Re: END OF THE ROAD NOBLE
i see where you coming with attitude and complacent but is sacking another coach the answer? deffo not. give him another year and see where we are. im not calling smith at all, all im saying is if we had the players fit it wouldnt have been as bad in scoreline wise which of course isnt there fault. i think we will win 4 of are last 6 which we will finish 4th which is better than last 3 or 4 seasons.ragman wrote:This is unbelievable...eccywarrior wrote:ill say it again.. sacking noble is not the answer. we are 5th in table with a game in hand meaning if wire lose tonight against hudders (which they might do) and we beat them next fri then we will be 4th which is good enough. anyone thought we would beat saints last night must be either deluded or not a fan who goes a lot of the games. simple as. i think most of the fans on here think we should be top of league beating everybody but its not the case. i dont know how saint get away with this salary cap. no way are all them players are under the cap.

It is obvious that you have spoken with true emotion and frustration about Noble. But you have not given the situation any thought at all.OAM wrote: WELL SAID TURF

TRUE WIGANNERS VOICING THERE OPINIONS
First choice players missing :- PAT RICHARDS .PHIL BAILEY,SEANN O'LOUGHLIN,PAUL PRESCOT,---- TIM SMITH.
Also missing after four minutes Mike Mc leaving 12 MEN TO PLAY THE SAINTS.
If the shoe was on the other foot and Saints were missing six regular players and down to 12 men and we beat them would it be a coaching problem. I THINK NOT. STOP THE WIGAN DISEASE OF ALWAYS BLAMING THE COACH.
Even with twelve men we posted 5 trys three of which were denied by the ref. also Gilmore's try was from a foward pass ,Cunninghams try was not a try he lost the ball and the final short pass to Long from Pryce was as foward as the Hock may-be knock on prior to the disallowed try by Leuli.

How anyone can say Wigan "missed" a player that has at this point in his playing career NEVER played for us....... Bit like saying Wigan would have won if Cooper Cronk was playing or Greg Inglis etc.jimofwigan wrote: It is obvious that you have spoken with true emotion and frustration about Noble. You also add, conveniently I might add, that Wigan are missing 6 players in your next paragraph, yet only name 5 of them, one of those yet to play for us (Tim Smith again). Another who can hardly be regarded a regular either (Prescott).
Stains have regularly been without as many as that injured throughout this campaign already. With much success and continued form. Same cannot be said for Wigan. If the shoe was on the other foot and Saints were missing six regular players and down to 12 men and we beat them would it be a coaching problem. I THINK NOT. STOP THE WIGAN DISEASE OF ALWAYS BLAMING THE COACH.
As for the sending off, I never thought it was worthy of such punishment (still don't). Yet Wigan appeared "beaten" and "short of ideas" in the 5 minutes prior to that - it was hardly a blood and thunder match at that point was it??[/quote]
