ok....Noble came in and was given an open cheque book. He signed Dobson, Fielden and Radlinski came back.
Millward may have done better but was stuck with Moran, SeuSeu and when he wanted signings the club said we had no money and signed nobodies from NL1.
When Noble joined he got the players he wanted and in doing so we broke the cap by nearly £300k.
So by saying he saved us is a bit silly.
END OF THE ROAD NOBLE

As much as I can't stand millward I can't really argue with this...pedro wrote:ok....Noble came in and was given an open cheque book. He signed Dobson, Fielden and Radlinski came back.

And are we still being affected by it now? Do we have players who are being underpaid because we have the likes of Fielden on massive contracts? I know I'm not a rugby player but in my job if people who were getting paid three times as much as me were underperforming it certainly wouldn't gee me on to strive for excellence.

Ny memory is not good enough to recall but did Hock not return to fitness just after Millward was sacked.gpartin wrote:As much as I can't stand millward I can't really argue with this...pedro wrote:ok....Noble came in and was given an open cheque book. I think generally a new coach sees an instant improvement in results whether that is temporary or permanent depends on the coach. Agar and Lowes have both enjpyed a similar honeymoon to Noble.

Re: END OF THE ROAD NOBLE
i get the feeling that words have been placed in my mouth here.
i didn't say edwards on board now or noble out.
i merely suggested when the noble era has ended (when his contract expires, as id like this to be honored by both club and coach), id love to see edwards at wigan. that's all. i didn't call for him instantly to arrive, i stated at the end of the noble era. which i hope is when his current contract extension expires, as as well as he has done for the club, i believe he's taken us far enough.
unless, he now picks the team up with a larger pack next year, i.e with piggy coming, and pryce fit again, the team is obviously going to start to size up more across the park. but noble is no longer in control of signings, i think lydon is now.
