Personally I think Cas sullied the good name of RL giving him a trial.

In a strange way, the only thing he was unlucky about was getting caught. I doubt his team mates in the relay were totally oblivious. I bet also, that they would have still held onto their medals if it was revealed years later that his performance enhanced runs had been one of the reasons for their success.

It is interesting to note, that the British Olympic Federation is to revue its total ban on athletes that have "served" their sentence, after this years Olympics.

I agree... it has been a while and I am still disappointed at Chambers' decision. Hope to see him at the world championships though.

well it was his decision to cheat so a very good decision to ban him from the olympics. Dont think it helped him that he was training with castleford though. He didn't show athletics respect so why should athletics show him respect? He went back to athletics when he realised he was a failure in other sports.

So you seriously believe this was an attempt to make a career from play another sport?

It was exactly how it turned out - a publicity stunt on behalf of Castleford and him.

What is the point about respect from other athletes also? Most probably they themselves (or they know someone who does), use performance enhancing drugs. Do they get the "High Moral tones" with them and "grass them up". Nope, the only thing Chambers did wrong was get caught.

I will have anyone any bet for any amount of money now - that someone will fail a drug's test at the forthcoming Beijing Olympics! So all the talk of making examples and stamping it out etc are just rhetoric that pleases the "old guard" that won without the need for extra help.
