Paul Prescott 1
Chris Tuson 1 (1 disallowed)
Sam Reay 1
Luke Roden 1
Kyle Massam 1

:D I am not arguing Josie because it is a nightmare trying to keep score. So I cheated and asked a geeky looking bloke with pen/paper. The Walker and Stanton tries were crackers

Had to smile at Sam Reay. One of the Hullplayers was giving him the verbals calling him fatty. Same just smiled and said I have managed to skip past you twice.
It was just when Sam scored his second I said he's not gonna let Joel get all the plaudits for tries scored this weekend, he's gonna go for a another and he proved me right lol. thought they played very well, still wary bout Sam playing all the time in SL yet? Had a heated debate with a guy in front of me bout it but I think he needs another stone to give him some protection wouldn't want him to get seriously injured cos we've not got the players to defend him at the moment. :)

Sam Tomkins does not need any protection Josie trust me. However, I do not think he should play that much (if at all at the moment). I think the opportunities have existed to have him on the bench and to give him 'cameo' spot of 10 or 15 minutes etc. At the moment with 3 halfbacks he has no place. Next season minus Trent he surely has. The pity is that Trent was the ideal partner for Sam as Trentlies the right and Sam the left. Sam and Tommy Lu Lu for example might never work. Not even sure Tommy Lu Lu and Tim Smith will work but we will see.

Sam T was even smaller. Nicky Stanton size as a 16 year old. His old Geography teacher used to try and rough him up in the yard but seriously, forwards would see him fancy their chances and try to run over him. It never worked. Once saw him obliterate a Cumbrian forward who thought he would be easy. Stanton is even tougher. This kid turned down professional football contracts because he preferred the physicality of RL.

Too many small guys have made it big and in eras when you could get away with far more to hold people back because they are not huge.

One of my favourite moments is watching Andy Greg smash Mal Meninga from a kick off for GB v Aus. Mind you he would probably have got sent off now for it lol.

1.Why would the aussie club want them 2. If they went and were successful would we not be in danger of losing them to the aussie club
Most Queensland RL Clubs are now feeders for NRL Clubs. So as an example, Canberra reserves are South Logan Magpies. Why would they want them? Money, prestige, boost attendances, damn good players. If we lose some so be it. THe return from those that do not stay in Aus outweighs that risk. Those that do stay might strengthen GB as a national team.
Don't know how it would boost attendances and what do you mean by money? We would pay the aussies to have them? Also you say "THe return from those that do not stay in Aus outweighs that risk" but does it? Surely it means that they keep the good uns
Club A taked its young players to Australia. Club B send its young players to Leigh and Widnes. That in itself puts club A in a position to get better quality youngsters, youngsters from outside the service ares.

If wwe send 8 players to Aus. The worst player to go will be better than the best that went by the end of it. So even if we lose 1, 2 or 4 (we will not) the end result is still far better. Think of the access to quality consultant coaching out there.

We sent a quality set, our best youngsters to Aus and today they got thumped 60 points + by Australia. That does not make our youngsters bad players. They are not. However, in Aus youngsters play v quality regularly and it speeds their progress.

Not sure how many can remember similar but in this country we often used to make the best players play in older age group matches. It was in part a way of achieveing the same idea. However, we keep hearing in time, lets not rush. All I can tell you is that playing above your age group made you have to play properly. From personal experience you played better. A lot of our best players played against older players be it in a non match scenario or in real matches.

The only alternative in this country is small group of academy / reserves teams with Wigan playing Saints 4 times, Leeds 4 times etc.

Seen he has put on weight and grown from last season but still a bit scared perhaps its my mothering instinct eh lol. Agree with you re the short spells of play though. Rate Stanton as well his head looks like a boulder on his shoulders was speaking to his uncle after the game and he keeps getting cramp thats what was wrong this afternoon late on. Think a lot of our young guys need a chance though :)

I have started negotiations with IL for the Enforcer.

IL wants to know does he have a hairy chest like Frank Collier and Kelvin Skerrett.
