Phelps New contract would you?

Post by wiggydoran »

Phelps is after a new contract for next year. Would you give him one?

Answers and veiws please

I certainly would. He looked the business in the centre on Friday. He has a good turn of pace on him but he lack a bit of understanding with his wing man on fri.

He's versatile - able to play several positions.

He's fast - certainly faster than most of our backline

He wants to be here - and certainly seems to put the effort in and has a good attitude

Obviously the size of his contract is important; however he has done nothing wrong since he has been here and has adapted very well in a short space of time. Imagine how much better he could be if he was here for a full pre-season

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

id echo the same comments that have alreeady been made hes quick plays with passion is a great utility player. Also has show given the chance he will finish and is a real strike threat which is what we need.

Again contract does come into it but i would certainly like to have him as part of my squad much more useful an over seas than bailey

Absolutely I have been very impressed with Phelps, he looks like a quality centre and doesn't look out of place when asked to play in another position, I think he's been a very good find.

God wrote:Im going yes hes versitile and quick. The only problem is he takes a valubale spot on the overseas quota and there are alot of Aussies that are better than him.

A great deal hangs on how much his contract is, cheap to medium i say yes. If he wants to be top half to top earners,no would be my answer.
The quota isn't a problem for next year, otherwise I agree, and I think IL is sensible enough not to offer him megabucks.

Yes think he has fitted in well and is very versatile :)
