One more point

Post by FROM A TO B »

Out of our last three games and top 6 is guaranteed.
6 points ahead of Wakey in 7th and nearly a 100 point for and against difference (in our favour).
All to play for on Friday as this game could end up being the make or break for the season. :eusa10:

Only one more point from 3 games sounds good to me! Just hope we take two on Friday though - will lift the pressure off the final 2 games a bit then

If there are any issues with the salary cap then I would expec the RFL to be announcing that imminently. Last year the penalties were handed out by the end of July, although in 2006 it was around 11th August. Any later than this is not really fair on the clubs or particularly the fans; there would be uproar if we got the point we need on Friday to guarantee play-off football but then were fined 8 points or whatever to make qualification impossible.

It'd be nice for the RFL to get on and say what's going on, even if everyone has complied. The league has had months and months to check these things, and I never did understand why it took so long to decide if a breach had taken place or not. Of course, the system has now changed so that salary cap breaches are tracked throughout the season, but it would be nice to get closure on the old system and what has been a painful saga for us Wigan fans.

Since when has anything the RFL done been supposed to be either of those?

The rumour "going around" is that 2 clubs have breached the cap and another has a "minor" breach of the cap for last season.

Surely the RFL will have taken into account last seasons salary cap performance during the franchise process. All clubs should also be aware of the scoring they were given on this area in their reports from the franchise.

If this is the case then surely an announcement could be made now?

Ah, but I posted assuming they would lose today, hence we still need the one point to guarantee play off place.
as for the cap comments, I thought they changed everything so as it was done on a month by month basis (or was that from this season) :doz:

Can`t see the RFL leaving any such salary cap announcements so late . If there were any point deductions I believe that they would have been publicised .
I believe that any such infringements are only minor which won`t effect any play off games .
