That is debatable.
The battle of Stalingrad ended in late 1943 - the Germans having lost their previous air superiority when the German army was cut off.

The Eastern front was quite some distance from what was left of Stalingrad - and being that the ME-109 was a fighter there wouldn't be much point sending them behind enemy lines to attack rubble anyway
