I wondered if the "Shaun Long" message was some sort of code for the stewards? :eh: There was a very quick response from a large number of them to the top of the South Stand - I wonder if some fans were scuffling/throwing beer or something else??? :craz:

Could be - unfortunately it's always going to be a bad night in the south stand when the stadium announcer says the words "sean long" (unless of course it is part of a sentence like "happily; sean long won't be playing tonight as he has been hit by a falling grand piano")
"And Martin Offiah, trying to make some space, now then..." - Ray French, Wembley 1994

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?
Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

Nah. Just stupidity. Not a brain between the reciever of the call, the announcer and the stewards!
Was there any trouble up at the back of the South Stand last night?
From where we are sat we could not see any at all.
What "SEEMED" to happen was the announcement about "Sean Long" brought about the arrival of about 12/15 Stewards up each stair case. So about 24/30 Stewards went rushing to the back of the stand then seemed to stand around for a minute before going back.
There did not seem to be a problem.
There did not seem to be anyone removed.
There did not seem any point.
There did seem to be a ground full of people trying to see what the "trouble was". And I have not found anyone who knows yet...
It looks as though it was some kind of training routine?
Were they practising for the Latics?
My only beef would be if this were the case to be honest.
Do what they want for the football at the football. We should not be used for this as it distracts from the game.
