Trent, on the Sporting Life site, says the players voted for Widnes rather than Warrington.
Barrett, Wigan's acting captain in the absence of Sean O'Loughlin, revealed the players were given a say in the final decision and opted against Warrington's Halliwell Jones Stadium, which was the venue for their shock Challenge Cup semi-final defeat by Catalans Dragons in 2007.

What a SHAME!
Several Warriors posts have said that prior to this incident they accepted the Lattics and wished them well but since, have turned against the ethic of ground sharing . We are not in a position as supporters of a Brand to influence the way directors run the business and manage the brand. It is a commodity like Nike trainers. We may not agree with the way they manage but it is a very difficult job to make a profit and please people, the public, the supporters, the people who pay the money at the gate, the people who are passionate about the game but like it or like it not our money is just a drop, significant, but a drop in the corporate ocean. Sky and the Football Association are the big rollers.
Having said that what, a set of Bankers!! Are running the business, if they can’t see further than three weeks ahead I take all my plaudits back, Bankers!! What a SHAM.

right i'm in the north stand, so if thats where the boxes aren't then alreet then, so if people are behind the sticks without drums some of my friends might be there as they've not got the tickets but i'm in the north stand, so if thats without the boxes all the better :)

When we were playing so well
Knocking the saints to Hell
Freezing and wet to the bone
Won right’s to play at home.
Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
Home fixture for you and me
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

Then someone so old and fat
Said sorry you can’t do that.
You’l play at the Widnes ground
Here come Sunderland.
Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
Home fixture for you and me
Que Sera, Sera

Whelan’s won without a fight.
He took away our right
To play at home again
Where were you Lenigan
Que Sera, Sera,

Say, if we expect to take 6,000 fans on free coach travel... that would mean a total of:

111 coaches @ 54 persons capacity

Now... Was IL thinking of 11 or 111 when he generously offered this incentive?

111 coaches?

Are there that many in and around Wigan??

I can foresee there being problems at JJB if there aren't enough to accommodate everyone!!

Coaches shouldn't be a problem, as people have had to book with the tickets, so they know how many they will need.
mind you, we alos thought we had a home game on Friday, so what am I saying :o

Just so people know, we have been allocated North, south and West, with Bradford using the east.
North 4,181
South 3,747
West 3,747

East 2,443

Total Capacity 13,393

10,950 for Wigan.
wonder if like at other all seater grounds without allocated seats, will they have to leave some seats empty? If not, waht happens when the 4,181st person goes into the North stand and tries to find the one remaining seat?

All this incident shows is that Whelan never really cared about the rugby, Whelan doesn't have a kind bone in his body he uses the excuse of 'business' to be a total tw@.

There have been rumours some of the players aren't happy with Mr Lenegan but compare to Whelan he is 200% improvement.
