Agree completely!

If George plays next season like he has this - then I would be happy for us to give him another year

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

happy is a bit of an under statement he should get a pay rise! and a contract extension hes been awesome. put him in a st helens or a leeds side and he would probably be close to one of the top try scoring centers in the league.

Heard from a very good friend of Calders that Willie Talau was heading our way next season. Is he of the overseas quota ?

SALFORD City Reds are poised to sign St Helens' New Zealand star Willie Talau on a two-year deal straight after Saturday's Grand Final.

Talau, 32, will make his final appearance for Saints against Leeds Rhinos at Old Trafford.

And with coach Daniel Anderson moving on after the weekend, Talau is also ready to leave and Reds will swoop to secure his signature.

Club bosses believe his experience could prove invaluable ahead of Salford's return to Super League next season.

Talau, a former Test international, is still regarded as one of the best defensive three- quarters in Super League.

Reds have already recruited Australian Mark Henry from the North Queensland Cowboys and the arrival of Talau will increase the competition in coach Shaun McRae's squad.

Form

Signed by Saints him from the Canterbury Bulldogs in 2003, the highlight of Talau's international career came in 2000 when he played at Old Trafford in the World Cup final.

He has been in fine form for Saints this season scoring 16 tries in 28 appearances and in total has scored 66 tries in 150 appearances.

McRae, as well as boosting his playing contingent, is also looking at bringing in an assistant before he heads for the World Cup in Australia.

Saints, meanwhile are the bookies' favourites to win the Grand Final and Tony Barrow, who starred for the club, is convinced inspirational skipper Keiron Cunningham will lead the side to victory.

He said: "Keiron is playing some of the best rugby of his life - he's had a magnificent season.

"He just gets better and better. No wonder they're planning to erect a statue of him at the new stadium. He's just so vital to the cause. He inspires those around him, he makes Saints tick and he's just such a wonderful organiser.

Wigan Warriors, who lost out to Leeds in the semi-final, are on the look-out for a prop and former Salford player Gareth Haggerty, who has been at Harlequins this season, could be a potential target.

This time last year, Wigan swooped for Salford's GB prop Andy Coley but he has had an up-and-down year with coach Brian Noble keen to bolster the pack.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
