Dave can you play your violin on some other street corner. My ears are hurting. Do you know why o'Carol was not playing? Was it change for change sake or necessity? The players were slower. As was said the boys had given their all v cats. The energy levels were down right fromthe start. The snap was just not there. Youi say Noble does not rate Calders. Prove it, show me where he says it? Players you think are going for player ability may be going for a completely different reason. I noted he fans lined up for Mickey and Calders. The players were quiet about it. There as suspected division in the dressing room. Maybe, just maybe the dividers are leaving!!!
Phelps stood his ground on many occasions. I dont see you criticising Leeds cos Fika walked all over them. Phelps had a lot of good plays, good carries and great tackles but I stated in an earlier thread some are just looking for the mistake so they can berate team and coach.

How anyone can complain about Wigan tonight is beyond me.

Last night proved that Wigan are the third best form team in the play-offs. Not just by virtue of finishing 3rd but by the way in which they played.

The only margin Leeds had over Wigan was composure. The little things like Mathers obstructing Hansen when JJB made his break, Fielden knocking on, Carmont passing the ball to a Leeds man when he should have taken a tackle, Colbon knocking on and the knock-on on the final kick-off.

Defence was a joy to watch, by far the best game I've seen Calderwood have defensively. Tomkins too, great game and what a player he's becoming. Fielden, who has received a lot of criticism was awesome going forward. Hock too.

Beats me how anyone can grumble!

Calders has never been rated by Noble....wouldnt play him for GB when he was scring for fun at Leeds and he was fit and dandy would still not play him (even Calderwood said it to another poster the other day when he wasnt named in the initial squad for Bradford).

There is no divide betwen the players at all. They all frequently go out together and is no rift. There is a severe lack of motivation in the camp and that lies at Nobles door. You only have to speak to the players to know this.

I never saw Phelps stand his ground once. He made tackles when people tried to do him on the outside but head on one and one didnt and still hasnt impressed me....getting knocked out twice this season already from head on tackles speaks volumes.

I didnt want Wigan to lose its laughable to suggest anyone on here does. We are all Wigan fans but due to it being an open forum can vent our anger and frustration if we chose. I do not think they have been prepared correctly for the match as if we had have played like we did for the last 2 games we would have beaten Leeds as they did not look at the races also.

Typical story of the season...win a few and lose, very inconsistant. Same as the last 3 seaons we have finished well and come up short. We always look forward to a new season but we start flat. Noble said give him 3 years and he will win something...still waiting Brian!
