"Amos is very excited about the move because he has always had a lifelong dream of playing in England."
I've had a number of lifelong dreams over the last couple of weeks.

Does he have any mates who would also like to make the trip e.g. the entire Aussie squad? We still need centre, stand off, prop and loose forward!

If the figure quoted is true, then we should give a big rap to IL. He will be signing a quality player who will cost a fraction of the cost of players we have released.
I for one, believe that IL is a sound business man who will develop a squad whilst paying the appropriate salaries. This may take a year or two yet, but the end result should be a strong, better balanced and youthful team. I only hope that winning incentives are also built into contracts.

Well since there is no confirmation he has signed yet this is off to where it belongs, the rumour mill.

Article in todays Wigan Reporter says that his signature will depend on Carmont obtaining a Samoan passport and thus coming off quota and allowing Roberts on.
Re: Amos Roberts deal nearly complete
Thats rubbish, there is no overseas quota anymore. Its a federation trained quota and having a Samoan passport has no bearing on that.
Re: Amos Roberts deal nearly complete
As Mike says that is rubbish. I even posted a reply to an article on the Wigan Today web site that said the same thing a short time ago explaining why it was rubbish.Poster wrote:Article in todays Wigan Reporter says that his signature will depend on Carmont obtaining a Samoan passport and thus coming off quota and allowing Roberts on.
It seems the reporters at the Wigan Reporter are as behind the times rules-wise as those on the Wigan Today web site.
