Re: Homesick Smith keen to head home

Got a hot rumour from a source inside the club, or just something you heard down the pub? Then what are you waiting for, post it on The Rumour Mill.

Lockyer or Marshall are the only 2 I would have instead of him.

Why oh why are some people on here so down on Tim Smith? Every opportunity, Smith wants to go home or is causing concern at the club. From what I saw of him, he has enormous potential. Once he is playing regular rugby in an established partnership he will come good, the first time he came on for us, he was calling plays and marshalling the team like an old hand.
Please stop trying to bring the guy down just for something to do in the off season. He has his problems and is I imagine, dealing with them. He never tried to hide them from Wigan so let him do his job. If he makes a mess of it, then slate him, and me for supporting him if you wish, but until that happens, let him be.
If I was the other side of the world from my family. I'd go home when I had chance, and probably admit to being a little home sick too, but if you have a job to do, you do it. Tim Smith will be a great asset to the club, if the fans don't drive him away with negative comments before he has even had chance to establish himself in the team.

i dont think people are knocking him! everyone realises what a good player he could be....

to the bit in bold how can he be a good asset for us when he doesnt want to play for us??? the person who i get my info off (he's employed by the club) is very concerned that he wont be back over, i was told that over the wknd.. if it changes and he plays for us nxt year id be made up!

In other words he's spreading unsubstantiated rummors. When
Smith returns soon with Riddell and company I suggest you tell your informant to go away with short jerky movements :conf:

I don't think anyone is. I agree Smith has a lot of potential and I'd like to see Smith at 7 and Tomkins at 6 at some point next season.

However his signing is a risk and just now people are reacting to a new newspaper report saying he might not come back. We will just have to wait and see if he runs out for us in 2009 but I think people are entitled to voice their concern he might not when reports like this appear in the media. It isn't the same as fans making up stories for the sake of it.

Well Standish there are two posts on this subject
one from Tricky Dicky saying he's spoken to Riddell.
And yours relating to "someone who work's at warriors".
I know the one I'd believe.
