Re: Where will Wigan finish in 2oo9? (regular season)
We dont have Barrett, Higham or Calderwood but we do have a few newbies in Pryce and The Pig. I feel on paper we arent as strong as 2008 but we will do fine. 4th is realistic, anything less than 6th will be a nightmare season.
Again it will be Leeds and Saints in the top 2.
Here's hoping for Wembley and Old Trafford.

No doubt that Nobby is planning an assault on the title from eighth place.

His nickname maybe Piggie but do you think this is not a bit strong.ancientnloyal wrote:We dont have Barrett, Higham or Calderwood but we do have a few newbies in Pryce and The Pig. 3rd place for Moi, without Barrett we will be a better side, the team will gell better and play more like a team, just wait and see,

Why? He refer's to himself as Piggy. It's only a nickname and I doubt he deems it as derogatory.highland convert wrote:His nickname maybe Piggie but do you think this is not a bit strong.ancientnloyal wrote:We dont have Barrett, Higham or Calderwood but we do have a few newbies in Pryce and The Pig. Re: Where will Wigan finish in 2oo9? (regular season)
I think Wigan will finish 8th, the squad is weaker than last season so how can we do better with a squad only half as good.
We have lost the speed of players like Calderwood and Higham from the play the ball. Wigan have lost some of there squad players, Colbon wasn't brilliant but he had Super League experiance and knew the squad, Colye, Kavanagh and Stanton all promising players who have left.
Tim Smith doesn't want to play for Wigan anymore, Thomas LeuLaui has never played his best rugby at Wigan, Cameron Phelps is not a stand off and Sam Tomkins still needs some more time to develop so that could leave Wigan with a poor half back combination.
O'Loughlin, Prescott and Pryce all recovering from injuries and it could take them a while to get back to full match fitness, especially Pryce.
Richie Mathers is a joke.

1. Leeds
2. Catalan
3. Saints
4. Bradford.
5. Warrington.
6. Hull
7. Huddersfield
8. Wigan.
First coach to lose their job will be a toss up between Kear, Lowes or NOBLE
Man Of Steel; Jason Ryles.

Re: Where will Wigan finish in 2oo9? (regular season)
I can see us finishing 4th, as we havent yet strenthened the squad, besides riddell and price. If Roberts deal is complete then it might be another story, but im not suggesting he will make the diffrence between 3rd and 4th.
1.Leeds
2.Saints
3.Catalans (If they have their heads screwed on right)
4.Wigan
5.Bradford
6.Hull
7.Wire
8.Quins
Thats my top 8.

Re: Where will Wigan finish in 2oo9? (regular season)
I would like to think we can make 3rd
but once again it depends on how consitant we can be through out the season and how quickly the new players gel with the rest of the team
but i would love to see us on top
