Re: Amos Roberts deal nearly complete

Got a hot rumour from a source inside the club, or just something you heard down the pub? Then what are you waiting for, post it on The Rumour Mill.

Fielden hardest working prop :o and smith offered nothing last season and you just critised fat cat journey men. Smith if packing his bags back to oz at the end of this year, wudnt be suprised if it was earlier

In a recent interview Carmont said he was waiting on his passport to arrive so they could sign Amos - so its a definite that he is joining us - the Bird thing is unlikely as Todd Carney was refused a permit due to his drunken behaviour - so beating up girls must be viewed as a more serious incident so its unlikely Bird is on way to UK.....but AMos is just a matter of being patient and wait on George's passport!

it is all well and good waiting for carmounts passport but we are forget the trouble Aus players are having getting over here in the first place. There is a new visa system as at April'08. It has delayed Estwood going to leeds, Crocker going to Hull and Saint getting Tony Puletua.

That mean roberts may get here in MAY. I am hoping they have appiled for that already.

I'm not sure if he is on a visitors visa but from reading post on here Roberts is already over here. He is on the warm weather training so i would think every thing will be sorted with any visa.

Would expec he has his works permit, He will be in the same limbo as KP. Just waiting for room in quota rather than SC for a place in the team. While he can train he cannot be registered until space is available, Jim

Roberts was due to arrive in Wigan yesterday. I presume he did so.

It's a pity that Bird didn't accompany him.
