The idea of these songs is to show support for the team and/or individual players? Surely, if people want as many supporters as possible to join in the chants/songs/general noise making, then the chants etc should be suitable for all supporters to sing?
Surely that is the way to get as much noise as possible in the ground?
Isn't that what we want?
Yes let's all support the team, but let's do it in a way that shows that we are better than all the other fans by not lowering our club to the levels that the other fans do. We can give opposing fans as much stick, but don't need to swear to do it surely?
At the risk of repeating myself, the Club ask that supporters don't use offensive language as Rugby League is a family sport. Respect the wishes of the club you are supposedly supporting, it's a no brainer surely?

Totally agree!!

Most civilised people wouldn't sit on a bus with kids on it and start swearing in front of them, as far as I'm concerned it should be no different at a Rugby game. Incidentally I go to the game with my dad and out of respect I have never used a swear word in front of him... if that somehow makes me a poor supporter then so be it.

I always thought the "were the greatest club in the world! etc" was a good one.

I think chants work better than full on songs, 1 or 2 lines at the most.

I think re: the swearing, that vulgar swearing i.e f**k or C**t should never really be part of our chants. In my opinion i dont buy into the if you cant beat them join them attitude of "oh well other clubs sing stuff at us!" can you not have a bit of class about it?. If i had children i would certainly be very adverse to taking to them to a match if all the way through they were hearing swear words.

Everyone slips from time to time, but our ground is for all the fans and while only 25% of people may object to swearing thats still 25% were as you cant really say your offended by use of proper language.

The one thing i love about rugby it the fun atmosphere the "all in jest" attitude rugby supports have if you start direct very offensive chants at opposition fans, alls that will happen is they will do it back, and eventually it will start spilling over much the same as it does in football.

All this is of course personal opinion and im not one of the older members of this board at 24. Like i said i liked the "were the greatest club in the World" chant, no swearing very catchy everyone can join in from 5 to 55 and that is what i wanna see at games
