Can't catch a ball and gave up even trying to. Can't tackle and has no bottle. One time the ball was on the ground nearer to him than the Wakefield player and he didn't have the guts to dive on it. Spineless and useless. The opposition tactics will be easily decided when he plays. Bomb after bomb after bomb.

well this makes sense Richard Mathers out, why not Thomas Leuleui out for knocking it on twice or Andy Coley for knocking on a few times, once on the line, or a Amos Roberts out because he was out of position for the second try.

Richie Mathers got sarcasticly cheerd every time he caught the ball although i cant remember him doing anything wrong

He got sin-binned but his momentum took him over the player

he missed a taclke when they scored a try but Amos Roberts let him go first so maybe Amos should have done his job in the first place

he did a try saving tackle when Wakefield made the break which would lead them to scoring.

besides Feka he was our best player in a very below average performance

Well said. The only thing Richie did wrong out there was get binned! Fans were like this when Richards first started but they easily change their tune, now he's golden boy! Yes, Mathers has had some bad games in the past for Wigan but it's a new season, drop the prejudice's, give the lad a chance!

Didn't Goulding get red carded for a trip last season? He definately got in to a lot of trouble for it whether it was during the match or a disciplinary afterwards.

Never ceases to amaze me. Was the 18th man at the same game. Mathers is a fu***ng liability. Absolute rubbish and not fit to wear a wigan shirt.

Granted though he is good at back slapping and to be fair when we do manage to score a try (especially when on Sky) he's always the first to jump on the back of our players.

Just wish he'd concentrate more on being a full back.

Iam sorry but you cant blame one player for this defeat, I dont think many players did themselves justice out there today. Too many balls were dropped, tackles were missed all over the pitch and runners went missing as the game wore on. Amos Roberts was a mile off the pace of the game and Piggy was outplayed easily by Brad Drew. What happened to Feka's diet he looks the same as last year. We need to realise that quite a few of these players are not good enough to play the kind of Rugby we want to see. Smith and TL will be ok but if they dont have players willing to work for them we will not be successful. It seemed to me that Wigan just didnt want it as much as wakefield, does this team not want to play for Noble that is the question we should be asking!!!!!
