lets say some positive things...best so far..?

Post by markill »

if three games is enough to fully slate everyone it is enough to answer this: best player of the season so far anyone?

no negatives (unless they are funny/considered criticism of your candidate) as there is enough of that elsewhere.

My vote would go to Joel Tomkins. He has lloked as dangerous as anyone and has been playing out on the right hand side yet can't be labelled for all the awful defensive play out there as he has put full effort it. Keep it up Joel!

Agree Joel has been excellent, Ainscough was very good yesterday and Pryce came up really weel considering he's been out for 2 years. Ridell was much better yesterday.
O'Caroll is as good as I've seen him and Goulding looked sharp yesterday.
I also think Tim Smith will come good. He is poor defensively but if we play expansive rugby he with excel, he should be getting more protection from the guys around him

best things so far, thankfully due to work commitments i couldnt get to the match and therefore saved myself over £50 me wife n 2 kids, not bein funny now but noble out is not enough there is no commitment from over half the team, standing round behind the sticks hand on hips does not constitute commitment, lockers springs to mind, no leadership skills wotsoever, noble and lockers (keith n Orville) 1 a useless as been and the other a puppet with an hand up its arse, come to think of it dont no which 1 is which

Unfortunately ive only seen 1 live match, the rest on radio. I agree JT has done well. Ainscough looks promising but was a debut so he was fired up emmensely. Perhaps we can judge when he gets more games but he seems on the right track.

Attack or defence it hasnt been good. Not many positives

Club-wise our attendances are lower than expected and lower from previous seasons... same fixture last season had 16000+ at more or less the same date. a drop of 4000 I dont think that many people drop because of form, although friday/saturday may change a bit.

Loyal 18 banner is awful, IMO...

Im hoping for a sunny summer but confidence is low obviously.

Positives from the Castleford game.....
1. Sean Ainscough - We all knew he could do it, now let's keep him in the team.
2. Karl Pryce - Despite obviously struggling, looked very dangerous every time he had the ball.
3. We scored our first try from a scrum for as long as I can remember......Tommy ran across the defence, Amos held his man and offloaded to Pryce in the corner.
4. Tim Smith - Surely after this performance Sam Tompkins has to come in.....which is a positive!!

Wigan til i die!!

The second half against Cas showed some bits of good rugby. Our defence worked better by moving up quickly on each play the ball, and forced mistakes. There were some good attacking moves, and we scored more points than they did. Ainscough was a revelation and several other Wigan born players stood up to be counted.
Sadly that's about it.

i thought goulding was awful, he shoots out of the line and leaves his winger without any chance and i dont think he's up to it going forward either!

He looked very good to me. When he tries to kill the move then surely his winger should be following him. I think you will find most Wigan fans want an end to this passive stand and watch whilst the opposition do what they want defence that Noble seems to insist upon.
