Why can't Smith tackle?

If you defend out wide you have to make 1 v 1 tackles

Smith should never have been signed. You do not willingly invite problems into your club which is what we did when we signed him. If Tim Smith was the Tim Smith of 2005 he would have been playing in the NRL. So what made IL / Noble even think they could work miracles is beyond me.

Even if you team mates can see you are getting carried over the line, because you are defending out wide, they leave you to it?
Don't most halves tend to be in the line between centre and winger? or between centre and forward?
Isn't this so assistance can be given if required?
Won't the defensive arrangement be decided by the coach?
I think as I said, his technique was poor, but he was left out on his own when others could have helped had they chosen to.
