Nope. I posted the Wire team earlier, in the rumour thread, he's not playing.cumbria_warrior wrote:Anyone know if gleeson made the squad for wolves today? This to me will show a big sign of the possibility of his arrival at wigan

From the post-match comments today, after their game with York.Smith refused to comment on reports linking Martin Gleeson with Wigan.
He said: "I can't tell you anything except he and Adrian Morley were rested."

There again Dave he could have signed before 5pm yesterday but the rl hq might still be to clear the transfer. If an attempt failed due to cap. a reajustment may still have to be checked. Then again the club might be waiting to tell Mathers his Wigan days are history. Just because it is not yet open knowledge it may be a done deal, JimDaveO wrote:Coaches can make last minute changes and I am sure a new signing on the Friday would be allowed to play in weekends games.highland convert wrote:Well he can't be tomorrow anyway as provisional 19 has to be in 2 days before. However he can't play tomorrow as he missed the signing deadline of 5pm Friday for the 4th & 5th rounds of the cup.
If he signs he can only pay for us in the cup if we reach the semi finals.
Unless of course Wigan signed him in time but didn't announce it but that would require Wire to do the same which is unlikely.

If the deal was done before 5pm Friday I would imagine he had be be a fully registered Wigan player by that time. I would think if his registration only came through after that time he would be ineligible. There must be a line in the sand so to speak.highland convert wrote:There again Dave he could have signed before 5pm yesterday but the rl hq might still be to clear the transfer. There is some speculation on rlfans he was indeed signed, register and cleared by 5pm Friday and IL is waiting for tomorrow to spring the big surprise.
I think it is a little bit far fetched myself but stranger things have happened I suppose.

It will be interesting to see if Mathers plays for the reserves tomorrow if we haven't heard anything by then.
