Only just caught up with all the news. Sad to say I am not surprised.

Hard to know what to say on here to be honest.

Hated all the rumour stuff last week - no foundation in truth.

All I can say is last minute let-downs can never help a player with ambition.

Feel torn - any way people can contact me off board for why I feel this way?

Like Ainscough. I said it the other day, it must be gutting for Ainscough for Noble to just drop him, because Ainscough, must be thinking, "what in the blue hell have I done to be dropped".

Not good for his confidence, I say.

But we have a duty of care acording to Noble



I don't remember that being said about Shaun Edwards when he started playing. And look how he turned out!!

IMO if you are playing well and fit you play. Imo Paddy should have been rested last week as towards the end of cats game he was goosed. Phelps aint 100% fit neither.

Shaun, who I have been talking to, says he doesn't know why he has been dropped as he has 'done nowt wrong', he is very depressed about this and I think it is a disgrace. He is playing in the reserve game Saturday away at Wakey.

I very rarely comment on the coaches descisions but this has left me very despondent for Sunday's game. I am so glad I have decided to boycott the Magic weekend, because I dread to think what is going to happen.

Ainscough and Tomkins should be playing in all games not just one or two. As others have alluded to, Shaun is our, and the leagues, top try scorer and it makes no sense whatsoever to leave him out of the squad unless he is injured.

When you think of the others who could so easily be dropped it beggars belief.

I told him today to keep his pecker up, as the supporters are all behind him, and that he is the most promising and exciting winger we have had since Jason Robinson.

Last week Noble was quoted as saying he rested him, had a word and Ainscough was OK with it. I take it from the above comment CPW may well be right and players who are dropped are given no explanation?

It'd not inconceivable we will win this weekend and if we do, when do you think Ainscough is going to get another game? Noble will have is favourite players in the side, it will have won and so why would he change it? That will be his philosophy.

It's job preservation exercise for Noble as cpw alluded to.

The problem Wigan have is that the coach only cares about one thing and that is Brian Noble himself.

In order to make himself look a good coach he needs ready made players and has no interest in developing players, despite what he says in public.

I know for a fact on several occasions he has privately criticized young players, saying that they are over rated etc.

The "duty of care" rubbish is a cop out, he is a very sly man.

In my opinion, he knew they would have a big win over the very weak Crusaders and it was a chance for his experienced favorites to look good against poor opposition.
So then he could go with the same 17 next game.

It is criminal what he is doing to Shaun Ainscough's mind set but he has damaged the career of certain players before so it does not surprise me at all.

Mind blowing if what josie says is true (facebook eh?). I know some people on here have written off the league but if we are 'coming into form' like Millward suggests after a 1-sided win over celtic why not buildon it by having our best team out?

We know St Helens will have a thorn in their paw and will have puletua(sp) back next week and the obvious lift they get on derby days and the big stage. We will get slaughtered like a stray cow in Yemen. At least go into the Saints game with a squad who has played 3 games in a row for consistancy, we willlose yes but its good for the cup the following week.

not just ainscough, he's 1 player (our try scorer) but our squad is changing each week no wonder we cant finish a set of 6 successfully.

I am totally despondant and bewildered by decisions like this. I can live with the decision to rest him last week after the Easter games, however surely we should be trying to build some momentum towards the Challenge Cup tie at Wakey. The best way to do this is to play our best 17 in the run up to it.

Can anyone say they have seen Amos Roberts offer more in attack than Ainscough, or provide increased security in defence or under a high ball?
We have at last uncovered an attacking threat, something that takes us away from the dull, plodding rugby we have become accustomed to. The response - remove this element of adventure from the team. What better way to alienate the fans even further.

I honestly believe that our crowds up to now would have been significantly lower had it not been for the fact that at last we are seeing some young Wigan lads given a chance instead of very average overseas players. This didn't last long though did it? This is a massive step backwards and will reflect in the level of support given to the team.

To include Karl Pryce in the squad before him is an insult. This duty of care that Noble spouts on about, surely a professional player also has a duty to keep himself fit. Pryce is not getting any fitter. He should be sent out on loan where he can get 80 minutes a week and be introduced to a different conditioning set up. Ours' isn't good enough. If there isn't significant improvement by the end of the season get shut.
