It certainly appears that if you aren't in his golden circle you will find it very hard to play under him. Mickey H is the best example Nobby never liked him and no matter how good he played Noble would never praise him or if he did it felt like it had a tinge of bitterness in it.

Its like he is bitter that ainsy is showing him up basically showing him that he is wrong!. THing is i dont know if its because im not a supporter of them but i cant remember him being like this at bradford?

He had issues with the lad that now plays centre for Wakey. He would never play him. He would also not let Pryce play 6.

I dont know what to think sometimes im at my wits end trying to make head or tail of the choices he makes and the things he says trouble is its gone on too long now i want him out, i dont care iff we win both trophies i want him out of wigan. Whether he is the cause or product of problems at Wigan will be only gauged by his departure but i am growing dispondant from the club. The persoanlity has been bled from the club

When we lost the first match v Wakey. An experienced player had a blazing row with Numpty and told him to F this, F that. It carried on at Orrell on the Monday. Since that day, Numpty has never crossed the player once. In fact he has gone out of his way to praise him.

I find it gutless that Numpty seems to only challenge young players. It is a recurring theme.
Shaun's going the right way about it though. Much better to show Nobby up in public with his on-field performances than arguing with him off the field. The entire RL world can see Shaun's (and Sam's) quality. which just makes Nobby look even more foolish when he drops them.

Very much Geoff. First, you cannot have players and coaches screaming at each other on a daily basis but more importantly Numpty blew it when he had to play Sam and Shaun. Once they play and play well it makes it very difficult for Numpty to pretend they are not ready etc. Even then he has tried his best to hinder their progress.

The question for me is how many other young players are being held back. If you do not give them a chance then it is much easier to argue they are not ready blah blah.

A lot of fans do not realise, Numpty is a control freak and he surrounds himself with yes men.

It is only a matter of time before Noble ruins Ainscough, and Tomkins as well come to think of it. He doesnt know how to coach or develop young players. He made a mess with Ashton, who seems a similar sort of personality to Ainscough, and it seems like he couldnt have done any better to ruin Goulding's career if he tried.

I think you are all being a bit harsh on Noble who demonstrates by his frequent mistakes that he (along with his mate, Fielden) are still "works in progress".

[quote][quote="turf"]I cannot believe that Noble hasn't got a word of praise for Ainscough!!!!!

did you even read the article?

also people jumping on nobles work in progress quote, it's probable a reported asked him 'how good can ainscough be', and his response would be completely reasonable to a question smilar to this. even tiger woods refers to himself as a 'work in progress'!

as to no mention of other players mistakes, when a brilliant 19 year old rookie scores 4 tries, they wouldn't ak him about aything else!

Noble is overstating the case and if you look at the news items the one negative headline is generated by Noble "AINSCOUGH 'NOT THE FINISHED ARTICLE'"

You would think he let every ball kicked to him bounce!

Against Celtic, Phelps made two howling mistakes that cost us one try conceded and one try not scored. Is he the finished article? No comment from Noble.

If the fans are paranoid about Noble and his handling of young players it is IMO with good reason.

There was no need to give the headline writers the copy with the negative comments. He could save those for on the training ground and for once in public just sing the lads praises. It would do no harm and in fact might even encourage him to try even harder. Some people do react to encouragement better than criticism.

In my experience most people respond better to encouragement rather than criticism.
That being the case why has Noble not gone yet when there has been bags of encouragement on here for ages?
It would be interesting to know just how many other really good young players we have waiting in the wings for someone to get crocked before Numpty gives them a chance.
