World Class is a huge call. NSW need a halfback I bet they give Tim a call up He has to play with Piggy injured. Question is do we start with McIlorum at 9 and switch Tommy there later or start with Tommy at 9 and Tim/Sam at 7 and 6.

Nobby will go for option 1. I would go for option 2. I don't think he is world class but he is potentially a great player, my concern is how long his run of form will last.
Gareth Thomas before his first game: "You wanna spend 10 mins getting smashed up by these guys..Big dudes here.."
How many tries did he set up v Wakey? Set some up v Celts.
The way I see it Wakey in the cup is now far more likely to be a win. Blanch is out for the season, no Halley any more either. The Wakey train might have come off the rails. CPW hopes so.

The first try was from a great Smith Pass, as was the second. Fifth was from a Smith kick.

His defence seems to be tightening up, this may be due to the fact of him having bailey and gleeson defending next to him but he can hold his head high and if he keeps playing like he is there is no reason why he shouldnt be in the 17.
World class he ain't !
You lead a sheltered life if you judge being world class by havin a good game against a piss poor Celtic side and an average Wakefield side
If he gets the nod v stains and he rips them apart he will go up a notch in my estimation, But world class I don't think so
No mate, I judge it from his awards in Australia when playing in the toughest league in the World. Dally M awards aren't given out in Dairy Milk bars like the MOS is over here.
If it wasn't for Timmy's unfortunate illness he would be ripping it up in the NRL. Put him behind a good pack and we'll reap the benefits.

You are contradicting yourself.
He won a single Dally M and there are multiple DMs compared to MOS. Rookie of the year is the equivalent to young player of the year.
Tim had a great first season that was many years ago now. Predictions were made for him and they never materialised. Thereafter he failed to live up to expectations and repeatedly disgraced himself. Fame and alcohol were his demons not illness.
You say Tim is this that and then admit if it wasn't for this he would be ripping it up in the NRL. Nobody wanted him in the NRL and he's a halfback. If he was the plyer you claim he would not be here.
An unfortunate trend is emerging from your posts, CP. Is any coach or player currently in the game worthy of the shirt? Looking back it is easy to see the magic, real or imagined. The trend now seems we need 17 aussie players all born in Wigan. You harp on about the greats, the bruisers but you neglect to point out change of rules would have half them on lifetime bans five minutes after they were on the field. We now have high tackles, we have ten metres instead of five, dangerous lifting. We have a salery cap that was created to make all teams equal. Smith is a class act. This team is settling and I for one have not ruled out silverwear this season.
Jim
He didnt have the best of starts to his career at Wigan or this season. He has now been in 2 consecutive games against the basement side Celtic and an off Wakefield side. His defence is his achilles heel but hasn't been tested much in the past 2 games. Over a period of time however I feel Smith is slowly finding some sort of form and his passing most of the time is quality.
TBH it's still tooe arly IMO to make a proper judgement on him as a player until he plays week in week out amongst a team who's players dont change position too much. If he plays in every game until the Celtic away then probably one can make a fair judgement on him.
