Sam Charged

Post by Poster »

Sam has been charged for his play the ball kick out. No doubt he did but if Sculthorpe had not been messng about and get out the way nothing would have resulted.
What are the odds of him getting done????

You never know with the RFL but the sensible thing to do would be to send Sam a warning and leave it at that.

Players kick out in tackles all the time and like Poster said the only reason he ended up kicking Sculthrope's head was because Scully lifted Sam's legs off the ground.

I couldn't believe some of those decision's in that match im not normally one who cares about the ref, but the 2 trys he went to the vid ref for it looked like he was desperate to find a reason not to give them.

Like that with Hock?, what the hell was that all about leading with the elbow?!??!, for 1) he was not leading with the eblow he saw the guy late went to fend and didn't have tome to get his arm straight and 2) how would nick fozzard of made a single run without being peanilised if that was a bloody elbow.

Sam was a bit stupid to kick out but scully was messing him about and he was getting roughed up. What about that business at the end of the match with leo-lato was it?.

He is a young player who obviously is full of energy and a caution should suffice as it was obvious there was no malice in it. But wouldn't be suprised to see him get a ban notice how mr newton and mr sculthorpe both have had maracilous turn around in visits to the discipliary commity since leaving wigan yet i dont think either of their games have changed.

I agree, Had Danny got out of the way instead of his usual mess about then he wouldn't have been there. You could see the shock on Sams face when he got told off.

Well from what i have seen from BENTham so far i think he hates Wigan he is the worst ref we have had for a long time every time we get him he makes BENT calls Sculthorpe should have been done for holding down and lifting the leg.Sam should have no case to answer to.

It was a high kick out. Had it really connected he would have been red carded. It was not put on report. It is the dudiciary that is calling him. Tragic yes but he probably get a one match ban,

He may have been stupid but it should have been a penalty to Wigan in the first place for holding on, and not letting Sam get to his feet.

Wigan half-back Sam Tomkins was tonight cleared to play against Hull KR at the JJB Stadium on Friday after avoiding suspension.

The 20-year-old was found guilty when he appeared in front of the Rugby Football League's disciplinary committee of kicking out in the tackle during his side's 28-17 Challenge Cup win at Wakefield last Saturday.

He was fined £300 but the committee decided not to impose a ban.
