Sean Long could quit St Helens at the end of the season after being told he can speak to rival Super League clubs.
The 32-year-old former Great Britain scrum-half insists it would "kill" him to leave the club after 12 years but he will consider it after being told Saints are only prepared to offer him a one-year contract.
"Obviously I'd like to stop at St Helens to finish my career but, if another club comes in with a two-year deal, I've got to consider it," he told BBC Sport.

Would have been ideal for one year with Jonathan Thurston the year after!
I don't think his body will be functioning in two years time.

Re: Sean Long to Wigan!
As usual, long is running his mouth in the hope that the stains fans will complain until he is given his 2 year contract rather than the 1 that Mcmanus wants to give him. This is just like how he ran his mouth the minute his ban for betting against his own side ran out.
He clearly doesn't have 2 years left, he looks a lot slower this year and is clearly a liability of Smith like proportions in defense. He's just trying to get as much money as possible before he retires. I can't see many clubs giving him a serious offer - outside maybe Celtic, Salford or Wakefield.
He won't be coming to Wigan - Lenaghan isn't THAT out of touch with the fans

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?
Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

If he came to Wigan, that would be the day that i never go again, he may have played for Wigan before but circumstances change and i for one would be dead against that move
