Sorry but the problem was there before Noble and nothing in recent history says it will improve after he goes. Players die in Wigan but come alive again after they leave, why? continually sacking the coach will not get to the answer. Noble should not be renewed at the end of contract but whoever replaces him will have to surpass the same bogey.

Who was captain last night? Brian Noble set out a team to do a job. HE DID NOT PLAY. Why when thinks go wrong do you scream sack the coach? The team did not respect the opposition. They were on a swan. The Celtic players turned up and the players could not get in gear. Noble was not resposible for that. The players were. There is an attitude problem throughout Wigan that is crippling the team. It is not a coach thing, it was here before the last set of coaches. It has been present from the start of superleague. It will be there until Wigan realise that they are just another team. They have to play to win. While they are on their high horse saying we are the greatest team that ever was they are treating the others with contempt. Lazy and lack of killer instinct are the result. Celtic won because they are hungry. Wigan never gives the impression they are hungry enough. Skill alone will win some games but hunger will keep you coming back when the chips are down.

The coach determines the culture of the playing side of a club. Alas, you want us to believe neither Lowe nor Monie created a culture. That both Lowe nor Monie had to 'battle' incredibly hard to get players to buy into their culture but managed to do so.

You want us to believe that the transformation of St George in one pre season (not 3 seasons like Noble) is down to the players etc etc and not a new coach called Wayne Bennett.

You want us to believe that Justin Morgan does not create the Hull KR culture or that Nathan Brown is not creating a culture at Huddersfield. Mick potter at Cats? Anderson at Saints? NOWHERE is the impact a coach can make shown better than by Warrington and Tony Smith.

If I was not hurting from LMAO at you comments I would be incredulous and bewildered by their absurdity.

The following are not my views. They come from within the Wigan RLFC club. Noble is a control freak. An ego maniac. He surrounds himself with sycophantic 'yes men' rather than the best people for the job.

Noble has the best training facilities, more money, a very large and decent squad comparable to all in SL bar say Leeds / Saints whose squads are getting poorer, a very good youth set up, he has been given the most expensive signing in recent years mid season. What more can others do for Noble.

So we have to write another season off at the halfway point then?
We still have things to play for, but since you want Noble replacing at the end of the season you obviously don't believe he is the man to achieve these targets. This tends to agree with the views of many on here.
You are correct in saying that the problems were here before Noble. That is why he was brought in - to eradicate them.
He hasn't done this, and many people - you included, don't feel that he can.
We should therefore be looking for somebody who can.

He's had three years to try and change things. Tony Smith inherited a similar problem at Warrington, and he's turning things round within a few months.

In any case, that doesn't really bear on the day-to-day coaching and selection issues. I only listened to yesterday's match on the radio, but even then it was obvious that we were still playing one-up-the-middle rugby, as we have for most of Nobby's time in charge, despite it being obvious that our main threats are out wide. He ignores obvious faults in his favourite players, while dropping others for little or no reason, despite saying that he selects on form.

For example, it sounded like Roberts had a nightmare yesterday, but who will be dropped next week? I'll bet it's Ainscough. Fielden sounded poor, yet again, but he's pretty much guaranteed a place whatever he does.

Yes the players do have to take some responsibility but the buck stops with the coach. And just to prove my point although it makes me hurl to say this,what has changed things so dramatically at Warrington, is it that they have appointed a coach who knows how to motivate players who were also previously underperforming, or could it be that they have signed Richie Mathers. I leave you to decide that one.

NOBLE MUST GO NOW, THIS WOULD ALLOW THE NEW COACH SOME TIME TO RECRUIT AND RELEASE THE PLAYERS THAT HE WANTS FOR NEXT SEASON NOT THE ONES NOBLE WANTS.

It's his remit as coach to change that he only got the job under the same situation, if we are unable to change then whats the point? If it is the players then it's the coaches job to either change them or get rid.

I think most fans and players Know we are not the best team, most fans can deal with it. The problem is with the bad games we play with poor rugby, When we lost to Saints at home, I was disappointed but we played well, I have no problem with that. I have no problem with the odd bad performance either but the dross we get served up every other week or so is not good enough.
We have half a season left if the players could play with passion for that time(even without being held back with an inept game plan) that would be reason enough to get rid now.

I agree, I dont mind losing when there is effort like both HKR and Saints at home. Both games we tried and failed to a better team. Left the ground feeling ok.

Warrington haver had the best team on paper for the past three years and done jack!
Smith hasn't built this team, he just stopped the rot by getting rid of the source!!

I keep saying that Nobby has inhereted a team that was not good enough.
You all know how bad you was when Nobby took over from Millward, to be fare I think Wigan, under Nobby, probably over acheived the season after. Had you not have done so well then the steady improvement over Nobby,s time would be more appearent.

Give Nobby another two years with a full salery cap and you will be top 4 again. The deferred payments on Fielden's contract is the problem.
Its something that Nobby is having to work under but yet never has mentioned as the problem.
I tell you now that I don't know of another coach in SL who would not use this as an excuse, and its a valid excuse.

Get shut of your coach now and you will have to start the building process all over again.

The deferred payments are not a problem as we have that bit extra on the cap. The RFL had to as otherwise we would have been punished twice, so.... it isnt the problem.

It will be interesting to see your coments after three seasons and Smith is "still just stopping the rot".
