Kyle Amor, bad decision making?
Kyle Amor, bad decision making?
Kyle Amor came to Wigan about 18 months ago and played 3 or 4 games on trial as a centre. He looked strong abnd poswerful but was not retained. He returned to Cumbria to play with Whitehaven where he has made such rapid progress as a prop that Leeds are now hovering. Do we make the right decisions?

But whose door does this lie at? Surely we can't blame Nobby for this as well.
Maybe our coaching and decision making staffing problems run much, much deeper than we think.

Why not? he gets the blame for everything else.Sutty wrote:But whose door does this lie at? Surely we can't blame Nobby for this as well.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

True, I was trying to make a point that no matter what goes wrong with the teams at the club, some people will always blame Nobby.
Some are probably blaming him for Hocks dabblings with charlie.

Just because Leeds are looking at him does not make him a superstar in the making, lets not forget they have signed a few failures themselves in the past
Re: Kyle Amor, bad decision making?
It is nothing to do with Brian Noble. It would have been further down the club. I think Brian Foley was in charge of youth development then.
Amor must be doing something right. There are 4 SL clubs after him incl Leeds who are favourites.

If they had been interested when we released him far enough but they weren't. We didn't see it then and neither did theycpwigan wrote:It is nothing to do with Brian Noble. It would have been further down the club. I think Brian Foley was in charge of youth development then.

At Whitehaven, his primary position is indicated as loose forward, and to be honest, looking at his build, he looks more like a loose, come centre style build, not a prop.cpwigan wrote:It is nothing to do with Brian Noble. With that in mind, Wigan have more back end players at his age than any club in SL. Maybe one of the reasons he was released.

The problem is, we need to look beyond build, size etc. What really counts is an individuals ability. Young players don't need to be pigeon holed they need their skills honed and weaknesses eradicated. They will find their right position when playing in the junior ranks. Two good examples of players who came to us and then found themselves playing different roles - Steve Hampson and Jason Robinson.Panchitta Marra wrote:At Whitehaven, his primary position is indicated as loose forward, and to be honest, looking at his build, he looks more like a loose, come centre style build, not a prop.cpwigan wrote:It is nothing to do with Brian Noble. I dont think Whitehaven see him as a full time prop either, talking to some of their supporters.shaunedwardsfan club wrote:The problem is, we need to look beyond build, size etc. What really counts is an individuals ability. You are correct, build size does not reflect a players strengths and abilities.
They say he has good basic speed and ball handling skills in addition to natural strength, maybe thats why he is indicated as Loose forward on Whitehavens web site.
Is it a prop that Leeds and the other interested clubs are looking for, or just that he has shown all round natural ability. I think the latter will be more true.
