Gareth Hock
Re: Gareth Hock
Gaz either took is simply recreationally or he took it as a way to fight off injuries. He was struggling in games and then in the last 2 maybe 3 games he seemed to be running far more freely. I do not know anything about drugs.
What I do know is that Hock was clean for the last 2 years and was tested once every two months over that period.
I also know that Hock is not the first and will not be the last RL plyer to test positive.
The use of such drugs is rife in society.

P N B - I wouldn't be quite so cocky if I were you. There are several of your team who are familiar with it. Just keep hoping they stay clever and lucky.

Re: Gareth Hock
What can i say that hasn't been said already, our club has been dragged through the mud these last few years and this tops it all off with the final kick in the face. Dark times for Wigan RL, throw's the chances of the CC for m money as in big games he is the difference. If it is positive i hope he never returns to our club im not one of those who believe's in second chances for professional sportsman and woman. I believe it should be 1 strike and out, you are in a priviledged position getting paid good money to do a job the rest of us can only dream of, i dont believe you should be given another chance because its not fair on the 10-20 waiting in the wings who did follow the rules

Cocaine isn't a performance enhancer. It's unlikely he took it to improve his play - for that type of improvement think ampehtamine or ephedrine. He'll have been using it recreationally.cpwigan wrote:Gaz either took is simply recreationally or he took it as a way to fight off injuries. Incidently Keith Senior was found positive for ephedrine usage 2 years ago and because it's semi-legal and used in several US cold remedies it usage is banned but grey. He received a stern telling off.
Re: Gareth Hock
Many would support that view WF
I guess I am being selfish because he was such an influential player in the team but I probably agree with your view.

I think if true it is an automatic ban for two yearsshevington wrote: I am very dissappointed but not one bit surprised by this.
Will he be banned for RL or just released from Wigan?
A very dissappointing day for WRLFC.

Shevington I have edited your post. we have to be very careful. Think what you want privately but publically Mike has to be safeguarded re liable laws.

Re: Gareth Hock
LOL maybe but he hasn't so Hockie a druggie.
Briers however is still a Wire playing a semi against a Wigan side who could least afford to loose their best forward for it.
If confidence wasn't already at a supreme low following Lenny dropping a bullock by not ensuring their approach for Kearney was tight-lipped. :eusa14:

Does cocaine numb the pain of injuries, make you feel better? I only ask because he looked to be struggling and then all of a sudden was running fine in the last 2 maybe 3 games.

Re: Gareth Hock
i admit with my wigan head on id want him to do a ryan hudson and come back and play brilliantly, however i firmly believe like i said as a professional sportsperson across any sport breaches like this need to be a 1 strike and out policy, like i said its such a privillidged position to be in, think about mossop, he's had to go out on loan, and to the best of my knowledge he followed the rules, in my mind that means he should be in the team not hock regardless of how good he iscpwigan wrote:Many would support that view WF
