But even if you look at performances rather than results, there's no improvement. Yes, we played reasonably well on Friday (first half, at least), but you have to go back to the Murrayfield win for our last good performance. We look good for parts of games, but rarely for whole games, which is sometimes good enough to scrape a win, but more often not.
How many games this season can you say we've played well for 80 minutes? One? Two? Certainly no more than that.
We also plyed against twelve men for part of this Friday nights game.
Is that a true reflector of how the team is performing.

In the past, we have won with, and lost against, 12 men. It is a well known fact that when a team is reduced to 12 men, ther rest step up a gear.
Stevo said so, so it must be true!
Not a true reflection on form then really.
If Stevo said it, then it must definitely be true.
As you say, a team can raise its game when they are reduced to 12.
Its a players natural instinct knowing he has to dig in deeper.
I am not sure if they could keep this impotus up for most of the game, and if given choice I would rather play against 12 men all season than 13.

And you think maybe a short term Aussie Coach would make the clubs long term Youth Policy his priority?

Why is the long term youth policy the remit of any coach? Coaches tend to last about 3 years at best at any club. Leeds have a successful youth policy and have had several coaches in recent years.
Long term youth policy is too crucial a job to be given to a coach who everyone knows will leave eventually. It needs far more continuity than that.
The youth system needs to deliver up prospective SL players and where the coach fits in is in deciding which ones are ready for the the 1st team and then getting them up to being true 1st team players once they make the 1st team squad. Noble is particularly bad at doing this IMO.

I agree 100% Dave
But we to have a successfull youth policy
just a first team coach who does not know how to utilse that resource
Wigan is and always will be a town of Cherry & White
