I was wondering what people's views on H.H. have been this and last season.

I feel he has not progressed much at all in recent times and we should consider letting Mossop / Farrell have a shot in his place (when the team is fit). Alongside Bailey, the two of them are fairly uncreative when you look at other teams 2nd rows.

The guy is good in defence but brings very little to the party going forward. Don't recollect him making many breaks this season, and he seems to get an awful lot of 'hospital' passes- is this the halves fault or his for running poor lines... generally he just seems to be anonymous in most games.

Would be intrigued to know his stats for the year so far? *These could prove me wrong I guess*

like you say hes a good defender and i thinks hes a solid player. going forward i think his problem lies with his size and how he runs a prime example his compare him and hock and how they run at the line imo i dont think his lines are a problem i think he runs some good ones.

For most of the season Hansen, Bailey and Tomkins have just played like extra props while Hock was given a bit more freedom.

Since the Hock incident Bailey has been given that freedom and has actually shown he can pass the ball. At the end of the day its the coach who sets the game plan so you could ask whether Noble is telling those player just to take the ball up. Joel Tomkins inparticular used to create a lot for the academy/reserve and was also excellent and running the right lines but we have seen very little of that from him in the first team.

As for Hansen I would agree that he doesn't seem to have progressed much but at least he is doing the hard work. Perhaps under another coach he will get the best out of the players but there are a few academy players looking to move into the first team in the second row area so Hansen's days at Wigan could be numbered.

I agree. He does get a lot done that tends to go unnoticed by fans, a bit like Cassidy was in that respect.

For me Hanson is a player that we need to be keeping hold off. He does a lot of the work that others dont seem to like doing.

He is very good defensively. As has been said not every player is going to be a world beater, but solid players like HH are needed to do the uggly work.

I agree with much of what you say especially about how the players are coached to play the game.

As to Hansens day's being numbered the Hock situation has probably given him another lease of life here IMO. Not that IMO the club should have been looking to offload anyway. As others have said you can't have super stars all over the pitch and Hansen is a good solid player.

There are quite a few young lads coming up but it is a big step up to first team in the forwards so I think one or two may find their way out on loan before challenging for Hansens spot.

A lot also depends on what happens to Bailey. Before the Hock incident I would have said he was nailed on to be let go. Not so sure now but if he is still let go then we would end up with a very inexperienced back row if Hansen went as well (his contracts not up anyway so he would have to be transferred).

Due to Hock I can see us keeping both for a while yet.

Not the most startling player in offence, would like to see him be a little more creative with the ball in hand, but he sures the defence up big time when he comes on. So to call him a cart horse is a little harsh imo.

I always thought a cart horse was a work horse.

correct , but as slow as they come he is 1/2 decent equad player at best
