But not as much as alcohol. There was a report on the BBC website a couple of weeks ago, and the amount of alcohol related deaths was staggering. Some of the "people in the know" were saying it was a bigger problem than drug misuse.

Alcohol destroys far more lives and costs more money than drugs. They should actually close Blackpool on the basis of what it costs re alcohol abuse.

I may be wrong but I think what HC was on about was that recreational drugs being illegal means there is a lot more who suffer than those affected by the end use of the drugs.

Your average Columbian drug producer is not the same kind of employer as a brewery! People die in the production of drugs. Some murdered and some who carry the drugs internally if the packets they swallowed burst etc.

The recreational drugs "industry" is a seedy and dangerous one. Hock and others like him ultimately line the pockets of these very nasty people!

I take on board what people say here about recreational drugs

so does every one who has a drink of alcohol in sport get 2 year bans as well
Wigan is and always will be a town of Cherry & White

It took some balls to come out and admit it after he was caught!, i bet it also took some balls to put the new of the world's cheque in the bank, now if he had gone to the club and asked for their help before he had gotten caught then it would be a different matter, but no, he simply carried on until he got busted, talk about being a numbhead, some people need to take off the Wigan tinted goggles on this issue like
no compassion then Medlock shame on you and you call urself a Wigan fan

we all accept that he as done wrong

but i for one am forgiving on this matter and i will tell you why

what he did was wrong - he took recreational drugs not performance enhancing

my mother god rest her soul always said to me when growing up it takes a bigger man to turn the other cheek than to get involved in trouble

Gareth as owned up to what he as done wrong ( does not matter why he owned up - he as )

Lets give the lad another chance

compassion is a great feeling
As a Wigan Fan where should my loyaltys lie, With the club itself or a player who has been caught out? in my eyes it is the club, Players come and go, the club is constant.

You say your mother taught you that it takes a bigger man to turn the other cheek than to get involved in trouble (your mother was right), Hock obviously is to numb to even work that one out.

You say that Gareth has owned up to what he has done, in reality he hasn't really owned up to anything, he has been caught plain and simple, he has only talked to the papers for money

Feka was minding his own business when some Buffoon started trouble, through mitigating circumstances said buffoon got a shot to the dial, nothing malicious on Fekas behalf, but for people to lump him in with likes of Cockayne, Pryce & Reardon is retarded, the club stood by him and so did the fans. Hock on the other hand has brought shame on him and the club, recreational drugs should carry a bigger penalty IMO, if i was walking down the street and got a pull off the rozzers and was found to be in posession steroids, idoubt any criminal proceedings would be brought against me, however is same pull produced Coke, then i would be up said creek without a paddle, Hock should be let go of and never aloud back no matter what his ability is.

Feka is no better than Hock. Both are responsible for their own actions. Both broke the law. Feka is no different than Pryce, Cockayne et al.

WRONG CP, Balloon lips & Reardon went looking for trouble, Feka did not, both partys did break the law but offences & punishments are totally different
