Who are these regular posters Guy?
I am led to believe numerous times after a bad result fans have been at one anothers throats in the South Stand Bar over reactions when Vievers et al enter both positive and negative.
If moderators believe a comment is unacceptable they should moderate it.

You are right about the bar, don't think ever come to blows, but sometimes can get a little rowdy.cpwigan wrote:Who are these regular posters Guy?

you all know my thoughts about this club and I still beleive we will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season. Stains run is coming to an end and the good times are just around the corner

Nelly if the club cannot get the right coach then maybe it is the best thing but would Noble want to stay under those circumstances. I have no doubt he could leave Wigan and have another SL coaching job within a month.
You are right coaches do tend to leave for those reasons but when given a choice many elect to move after 3 years.

You have no credibility on this board due to your insulting remarks. What you think is therefore immaterial.warrior49 wrote:I rest my case.

I think Brian Noble deserves to be kept on.
Some so called fans on here have exposed to the rest of us exactly how fickle they really are.

Re: All Credit To Brian Noble
Shaun McRae took over Saints in '96 and by the end of the season, he had turned them into a championship winning side. In doing so he also laid the foundations by which Saints are still riding high on. Noble came in and possibly saved us from relegation, whether or not we would have stayed up without his appointment will be debated for years to come, but has he taken us as far as he can, I would have to say yes. I think the clubs recent run of form will probably be enough to secure his future for next season, but I don't think he's the right man for Wigan.ian b wrote:Brian Noble is the most successful coach in superleague and with that in mind the optimist in me says he can make wigan great again. No one can seriously believe he is solely responsible for how bad we have been. The stains team took years to make and when they found the right balance they were virtualy unstoppable.I get as frustrated as anybody on here but i feel we have changed coaches to readily in the past and i dont think that helps any team.
Re: All Credit To Brian Noble
I am not particaulary a fan of nobby, i don't rate his tactics and the fact that our young lads have had to be played and probably saved him, he will drop them like hot cakes when senior players are fit. Which i don't think is right, yes he saved us from relegation , but he can not ride on that forever. Statistics show we are worse each year under his coaching.
I feel he will prob get new contract on basis of recent ressults, however the true matter is we need the mix of youth and experience which is something he is not a fan of.
And as for comments on "proper" fans I consider my self and my family such. We do a lot for the club as lotto agents it is not easy going about collecting money when we lose, the people blame you, comments like what did you do wrong etc. Plus its hard to keep members in current climate and results make a difference.#
I love my club but I AM ENTITLED TO AN OPINION AFTER ALL WE LIVE IN A DEMOCRACY.

Re: All Credit To Brian Noble
Please please folks lets not get carried away we all support the same team. I have seen every game this season, home and away, even the friendlys. It’s been expensive because for most of the time I was travelling from Spain but I can afford it.
I do not think that makes me a better supporter or fan than someone who only goes occasionally as I said I can afford it others maybe cant. However I can still have an opinion, it mat not be the same as someone else but that’s what makes the world go round.
In my opinion I have seen two games this season when Wigan played great rugby, that was against Saints at Murrayfield and on Friday against the Rhinos. There have been games when we have battled and deserved a standing ovation for their effort, Saints at home, Catalans at home, HKR away. I have also seen performances that have made me ashamed, not to be a Wigan fan but of the people wearing the shirt. I cant influence whether Noble gets a new contract or not, its not up to me, but I can have an opinion and I don’t think he should because our results overall don’t support it but even worse our performances do not. At times we have played rugby that would be booed off the pitch at Ince Rose Bridge and the bad performances outweigh the good ones.
This year Noble has been forced to play young players not because he wanted to but because he had no choice, he has possibly destroyed the future of one of them (although I have been told certain things which if true may change this opinion) I don’t think Noble is capable of making us great again, maybe he is not allowed to get the players he wants to play the style he is more comfortable with but if he is as good a coach as some people think he should be able to adapt his style to the players he has and not expect the players to play in a way that they are physically not able to do.

At least Warrior 49 had the bottle to post he was wrong
Now if we beat StH and Then win through to wembley that is impressive. How often have we seen teams fired up then run out of steam. Was the rugby boring because we were loosing, Was the one up rugby like that because the other side would not let us play. Where are those teams now. On the slide maybe. We have a realistic chance of silverware. We have a team that is raising their game. OK there has been horrendous results where the lads have not turned up but there is now nine teams below us and if we take the points off Stains that could propell us towards HKR. I for one hope the road to old trafford never gets too easy. Look at Scottish football. Celtic and rangers then the rest. Superleague does not have the same boring predictability.

Maybe a change of coach at this time of the season is not a good thing.ian b wrote:Brian Noble is the most successful coach in superleague and with that in mind the optimist in me says he can make wigan great again. No one can seriously believe he is solely responsible for how bad we have been. The stains team took years to make and when they found the right balance they were virtualy unstoppable.I get as frustrated as anybody on here but i feel we have changed coaches to readily in the past and i dont think that helps any team.
My concern is that Noble inherited an extremely successful team from Brian Smith & Mathew Elliot.
He just continued on with their success, having the best of players to choose from.
He wasnt blessed with that calibre of team when he came to Wigan, and to me it shows.
Some of his team selections have been strange to say the least, especially earlier on in the season.
A genuine coach would not pick his buddies ahead of better performing players, or suddenly change his team selections just because senior players spit the dummy out at not being picked.
Success of a club is deemed on the silverware the team collects.
As yet, we have none under Noble.
Lets hope it all changes by the season end.
I am still on the fence.
