I don't think that is allowed. Leeds Rhinos and Leeds Tykes are owned by Leeds Rugby or what ever the parant company is called. He is getting paid from that company to play and you can't just tack on wages from elsewhere to get around the 20/20 or salary cap.

If it were that easy to get around all our players would be dual code for Orrell and we'd have signed every decent player going in the off season, paid 'em all £20K on a dual code contract and have a squad of 60 !!

Dave
thing is do you know that for definite
I know if the 20/20 was that easy to get around all clubs would be doing it and it would be a worthless rule.

All out players would be employed as "consultants" for JJB and would be earning a fortune doing that and getting next to nothing for their RL.

I think you will find the 20/20 (and salary cap) rules are not as simplistic and many think and not as easy to get around. The RFL aren't completely stupid.

but he's is not just under the rfl he also comes under rfu and somehow i don't think he would play for less than 20k in two sports when he could probably get the same amount just to play one of them or more if he just played union.

My repsonse to this signing is this

A decent signing, making it a loan signing is perfect for us. We need players now, he adds size and strength to our pack. He isnt a full signing so theres no worries about him being passed it or not upto it, if it doesnt work our hes not on our books full time. Hes come in to do a job and he will do it, if he does well for us Im sure it will be looked at at the end of the season as to wether we should make the move permanent, if not hes back off to Leeds.
