Riddell might be running well etc but he is not helping to dictate a game.

If we don't sign a 7 next season we will be in the Same position as this year, that is if Sam does not suffer 2nd season syndrome
and a class full back
Phelps had a pretty decent game today, though admittedly they quite sensibly targeted Roberts instead, so he didn't have much to do.

Slag Sam Tomkins off as much as you want for todays loss , but it`s our forwards that lost the battle ..
An half back can only play from a go forward pack which is what didn`t happen today .
I agree that no one else stepped up to the plate today particularly from the forwards .
Give wires their due today they were the better team their tactics and kicking and wanting the game were far superior to ours .
So let`s not point any fingers at our young players , I would rather start pointing fingers at our older more established ones .

Wigan were taught a lesson by the Warrington half backs today Monaghan and Briers.

It was Monaghan who brought Morley and Carvell into effect when he moved to acting half back. As soon as Feka came on Monaghan tagerted him which put Wigan on the back foot for about 20 minutes.

Briers did an excellent job controlling the game and the backs. Nothing amazing just a good solid smart performance.

Tomkins didn't have the best of days but he was under a lot of pressure and not help by poor performances around him. Wigan need to sign another good half back to support Tomkins.

Leulaui is good when things go his way but when under pressure his disappears leaving Sam to do all the work. He is also very similar to Tomkins with his scooting runs and Wigan fans will no from the Moran/Orr days that if half backs are too similar it just doesn't work. Someone like Brough would help the Wigan squad a lot.

The Wire pack murdered our forwards,Morley and Carvell in particular. Our props are useless and i felt sorry for Sam Tomkins yesterday.

To be fair they murdered Feka and Fielden. Prescott and Coley at the least held their own against the big Warrington forwards.

When Feka and Fielden came on the whole game turned against Wigan. When Coley and Prescott came back on Wigan started a come back.

Jim, I would have selected a better team than Noble which would have given us more of a chance. You seem obsessed with size? Being bigger does not mean you win.

Just think re Sam Tomkins. Had he been given more game time playing alongside Trent he would be an even better player than he is now and IMO had Sam been playing with Trent we may have fared better at the end of the season play offs with Tommy free to play hooker. An opportunity lose.

Also remember Sam is having to play most of his games on the right when the left is his natural side.

Moreover, you can be Andrew Johns but if you forwards do not set a platform all your halfbacks will do is defend.

I think Mossop is viewed as a back row forward by Nobby and i think as a prop he would be excellent.Sorry but i do think Coley,O Carroll and Prescott are comparatively poor when you look at Graham,Puletua,Peacock,Burgess,Morley,Carvell,Lynch etc, need i go on? I do not fault them for effort but they are simply not good enough. As for Fielden well im lost for words.

Take Burgess and Graham out of the equation and i believe Prescott and Coley are not out of place.
