:D

So you never watched Wigan under the ML/DW regime then?? You also seem to have a selective memory; Higham played better than he had been doing but it's all relative and was playing for a contract. You think Noble has delivered? Did you sit through the dross week after week watching the same old boring rugby? What about getting totally out-coached by Potter and Smith in the CC?

Maybe we do need to go back to the enormous success we had under Mo & Dave. We'll overlook the indiscretions such as the salary cap, Millward & all the fantastic signings they made.

Get real.

Noble wanted Higham out not IL. He wanted to replace him with Tez Newton but the Bulls wouldn't sell. Next on Noble's list was Riddell - what a star signing he has proved! The thread to our ineptness is the coach not the chairman.

I may not have agreed with all his decisions but what you can't take away from Nobby is that during his time at Wigan he's given 100% for the club and been a true professional.

Especially in the past few weeks when all the media hype has been about his job, Nobby has kept his head down and got on with the job. Pity his efforts weren't rewarded with at least a final appearance.

Good luck for the future, Brian.

If lenagan had anything about him, any concern for the fans and the club we support the new coach would be announced tomorrow!

I have grave doubts that IL will get anyone with the record of Noble and though it pains me to say it, and I hope I'm VERY wrong, we will finish lower next year.

Who in their right mind would take on the demands of a club where fans don't just expect to win trophies, but demand it? Especially when hog tied to a team to which they will have no input because the tightwad chairman has already said there will be no new signings for next season

The excuses are ready made I suppose, "It's not my team", "we are in a period of transition" etc etc.

Some people on here criticise Nobles style of rugby, and want flowing end to end entertainment. That would be great, but grinding out boring wins will do me, as long as we WIN. Tonight the lads were robbed by that snake long to stop us getting to the GF, but Noble had already been told his services were no longer required.

I really wish we had won tonight, we deserved to win, and I would have loved for Noble to be able to walk out of Old Trafford with the trophy under his arm and tell Lenagan where he could shove it.

just to put the record straight Noble did not want Higham out find the facts out before you post on here.
Thank you Brian for the last 3 years I wish you well and Thank you IL for listening to 1% of the "fans" on these forums who was not behind Mr.Noble. I wonder who will be right at the end of the day ..... I know who my money is on.

Heres my two penneth i thank Brian Noble for saving us from relegation aided and abetted with the signing of Dobson and Fielding and the sacking of Moran and Se Seu along with breaking the salary cap along the way.
I wish him well in his new job at the Celtic Crusaders the worst kept secret(Iestyn Harris in Daily Mail) in the SL to say that he was only told last week is a downright lie.Was told that after the loss at Celtic Crusaders he was sacked and that Shaun Wayne was asked to to take over the team on a caretaker role but with his work commitments this was not viable.
Noble has proved himself as a coach of distinction at Bradford but sadly at Wigan he has not come up with the goods on the field .Cannot condemn his coomitment to the club for his doings off the field stabalising the club but the bottom line is the performances on the field were mediocre to brilliant without any constituancy. He got us to 3 GF and 2 SF CC but sadly let the fans down.I dont disrespect the man and wish him well in his new job. My own personal views is that he did not play the youth ie Sam Tomkins only in for injury to Tim Smith earlier and blood him in and give game time and his brother Joel who got his chance with Lockers injured .Ainscough was pillorred by him when he publicly stated that he was suspect under high balls Roberts did the same thing and nothing was said.Mossop was good enough for Huddersfield but not good enough for Wigan dropped in the semi final on his return to accomadate Bailey back from injury.
My take on Brian Noble he had his favourites and would not drop the player in form replacing him with an returning injured player .Good luck in your new job wherever it is .
