Stage one complete with Noble gone and Mcguire in, is it time we had a new club captain for stage two?.

Didnt say anyone had, but his fellow players voted him the best in the team, that if you have ever played team sports is the highest accolade any individual can have and says to me how highly his fellow Pro's regard him!gpartin wrote:Has anyone disputed the fact he is a great player?slimshady wrote:Our Captain was voted players player you dont need to continue this thread enough said!!!
Re: Time for a new captain????!!!!!
Lockers has just had his best season for Wigan, he has worked on his game and done far less blatant niggling at the PTB and far fewer unforced errors. He is a fantastic player and I like the bloke, however I have seen him mouthing off at the referee and seen him strolling over to form a scrum when we're behind. Not major criticisms on the scale of things but pretty big in terms of captaincy, only my opinion.slimshady wrote:Didnt say anyone had, but his fellow players voted him the best in the team, that if you have ever played team sports is the highest accolade any individual can have and says to me how highly his fellow Pro's regard him!gpartin wrote:Has anyone disputed the fact he is a great player?slimshady wrote:Our Captain was voted players player you dont need to continue this thread enough said!!!

Re: Time for a new captain????!!!!!
Yes Lockers is respected amongst his players and is a good to average player.....no argument. But an onfield captain he deffo isnt!!!!. For the last few years we've all seen (and even booed) the players under the posts after conceding a try, each with heads down counting blades of grass looking for insperation. The first person we see is Mike Forshaw sprinting onto the field trying to lift them and give them instructions. I wonder how fast Andy Farrell or Shaun Edwards would have been able to chase him all the way back? cause thats what they would have done!!!!. We got rid of Nobby cause he didnt produce the goods, ask the players and they'll tell you he did well. So for the players to make Lockers the player of the season is very questionable, just as it is with Nobbies achievements with us. This site is about what the fans think not the players!!!. Hands up which fans would have had Lockers the player of the season ahead of Pat Richards or Sam Tompkins?. We need to be winning trophies again and cant settle for 3rd best, with Lockers in charge on the field 3rd best is all we can achieve!!!. Lets get real.......he can tackle and run all day but he's never going to be a natural born captain!!!

No.
O'Loughlin is our captain, as far as i'm concerned until he retires.
