My thoughts exactly.
Re: WHO SHOULD GO AND WHO DESERVES TO STAY
I'd rather we kept Carmont rather than Bailey.DaveO wrote:No one who hasn't gone is gong anywhere except perhaps Carmont as he is the only player who has not had his contract renewed (Bailey having a one year deal according to SW).
So for me it's about competition for places next year. No one gone, little prospect of new signings (though there is a glimmer of hope given what IL said on the radio the other night) so if players under perform I expect them to be dropped.
SW mentioned competition for places as well in the radio interview so hopefully a real threat of that will go along way to keeping the senior player on their toes.

If this is true, can Ainscough play at centre?

We've got Goulding though, who was looking a vastly improved player after his loan spell, until his imjury. And, who knows, maybe Maguire can get Pryce fit...? Ian Thornley, too, is looking more and more deserving of first-team status.

Roberts should go to make way for Ainsgough; Coley and Paleaaesina are simply not good enough, so them too; piggy to make way for Leuluai as hooker; Fielden should stay but only play if he picks up his form.

I honestly think Fek will be a totally different animal under McGuire & Wane, his fitness being a big change.antobolto wrote:Roberts should go to make way for Ainsgough; Coley and Paleaaesina are simply not good enough, so them too; piggy to make way for Leuluai as hooker; Fielden should stay but only play if he picks up his form.
I think it will make him or break him.
Coley, I think he has the ability, but the attitude must change with effort back to the bloke when he was looking for a new contract.
I havnt seen many games this season, sadly due to work committments, but Riddell was probably playing his best games at that time, so I cant call him too badly.
Amos Roberts defence was very questionable at best in the games I saw, but I dont think he was in the best conditioning of his career which is important to be correct for a winger.
Stu fielden needs brought out of his limbo, if it is phsychological, he needs professional help to get over his bug bears, he is costing the club cap too much on his poorer form.
My main concern is Karl Pryce, and will he continue to be a lost soul.
As Geoff N said, Ian Thornley has shown good form in the reserves and should be given step up game time.

In an ideal world….clear the pack throw in Roberts and buy new….
As I have said we are winning nothing next year unless we got rid of these poor players, whoops nearly forgot Gleeson. I don’t care who the coach is, it will not happen with this lot…. Sorry!

Re: WHO SHOULD GO AND WHO DESERVES TO STAY
We shall see...if Maguire can just get a 10% improvement across the board, not an unreasonable goal given how they've underperformed (as even IL admits) that would be enough to win the close games that we've previously been losing. As always, I'm gonna stay optimistic until persuaded otherwise by performances & results.Wigan Watcher wrote:In an ideal world….clear the pack throw in Roberts and buy new….
