You don't need a ball playing loose forward at International level a loose should be used just as another forward with a decent set of hands, the halfbacks should be good enough at that level which is why Lockers should start at loose, Sinfield can kick yeah fine but he can't tackle, I watch Sinfield when he plays for Leeds and he's clumsy at tackling, drops off a lot of them as well. Lockers all the way for me.

To be classed as a "good un" a player needs to have many qualities, but alot of it comes down to natural ability. The only quality Lockers has is he works hard for 80 minutes. Hanley Farrell Betts and Goodway all had their own skills, yet their skills all came naturally to them. You couldnt teach the skills all these players had, it was what made these players legends of the game. Lockers doesnt have the ability to be classed as a "good un" because everything he does is what he has been taught. He has no natural ability and will never be classed as a legend!!!. Yes he has his favourites within the fans, i suggest this is due to him being a local lad thats come through the amature ranks and come through the wigan system. A perfect role model for any up and coming young kid with a pie in one hand and a rugby ball in the other. Maybe if he played was born in St helens and went through the St Helens system, the Wigan fans would see how over rated he really is!!!!

I think oloughlin played a couple of games at centre 5 6 years ago. But that still doesnt make him an international centre, i'd rather have a centre who grew up being a centre rather than a loose forward who played there once for cover as an academy kid.

Sean Long came through the amateurs and the Wigan system but he ain't that popular with Wigan fans. Mickey Mcillorum is from Leeds but is very popular with the fans because he's a "good 'un". Richards & Phelps have been amongst the most popular players with the fans this season (along with S Tomkins & Lockers), all because of their play, not where they come from.
Honestly I don't care where Lockers comes from & who he's related to, he has been top class this season both in defense and with the ball in hand, and was for many who post here a Man of Steel contender before injury.

I'm guessing that Tony Smith won't even consider playing Lockers in the centres in the 4 nations competition. Against Wales it makes little difference, we will wallop them whether we have centres playing 2nd row or loose forwards playing centre. The whole thing about playing Wales as a warm up is ridiculous, it doesn't put the players under any pressure and will not enhance the chances of England against Australia or New Zealand, because the majority of the England team to face those two won't be playing against Wales.
